how often do you change your bedsheet?

i am just curious, how often do you change your bedsheet? fortnightly, monthly or longer than that? or you changed it when you deem fit to do so? we changed our bedsheet about once a month and i am fine with that but my wife think it should be changed once fortnightly. but i am lazy to change and my reasoning is that as long as it is clean and we dun feel any uncomfort sleeping on it, then it is ok not to change. what do you think?

Hi friend, I change my sheets once in 15 days.Sometimes I change once in a week when I feel its dirty.I feel that we need to have a clean pillow covers as I get rashes on my face if I dont change often.Even the acne and pimples we get is one of the cause of not changing pillow covers often. Thanks for sharing.happy mylotting.

yes. at times i would get them but not often and i knew dirty bedsheets would cause some rashes or redness on body as at times i have them. i have always been using my body as a gauge to decide if i should change the bedsheet since young and even now but since my son now like to play on our bed, we are prepared to change it more often for his sake

I usually have my sheets washed every month. I should wash it every week i think, but we don't have a washer and dryer. We do everything manually in my household and if all sheets are washed weekly, it would be very taxing for us. I can't just not wash my sheets though because I get rashes easily.

one month is like what i used to do and i am fine with it as long as my body dun get discomfort from sleeping on it but i guess it would be good for us to change it often enough to get freshness from sleeping on them.

i would change my bedsheet once in 20 days, and if i feel that the bedcover is really dirty then i would change it immediately. specially if my child has eaten a chocolate and kept his hand on the bedcover and this will make it dirty and i have to change it and this happens very rare so i usually change my bed sheet oncce in 20 days or so. but usually what happens is if we keep on washing the bed covers often it becomes old and also weared out fast and it is prone to washing more than using it, so i usually change it within 20days and wash it and it will longlast for a few days extra.

yes i agree that is why i do it once in two to three weeks and i feel its fine for me and that is sometimes i change it immediately after a week or so when there is an occasion and any guest to come home.

i have the same thinking and doing as you. i would change mine only when i think it is dirty or i start to feel some discomfort and that is normally about 3-4 weeks but many others advised otherwise and i think they got a point too. a clean bedsheet is definitely much comfy than an unclean one.

I normally use mine for a week and then change it.I definitely dont keep it unchanged for longer than that but I may change it before that if I believe it to be dirty.

Its very important to keep our bed clean and i remove my bedsheet after every 3 days. Its easy to wash it then also. but if we remove bedsheet after a month then it gets so dirty that takes more time and work. sometimes which is tiring. so do good to your wife. Just try changing it every 2-3 days. You can atleast less her workload dear. now thats a reason enough for not being lazy next ime.

3 days is too fast to change for us. cos ours is still clean and normally even after 1-2 weeks it is still ok. maybe our tolerance level towards hygiene is higher, haha. but i must admit i am lazy.

My bed sheets are changed every second day by my maid.I just love clean linen to sleep on.
• China
25 Nov 08
wow, it is good to have a maid to do all these things and i hope to have one too. but every two days is real fast and too much washing would damage the fabrics of the bedsheets and make them not so comfortable to sleep on if they are wash too often
• India
21 Nov 08
You are correct, as long as you are comfortable, why go to unnecessary trouble. Also too much washing weakens the fabric, so you may tell her that too. For us, its usually once a month but then I change them also when I think they have become dirty, like somebody has spilt something or so.

yes. i am using my body discomfort level to determine if u should change the bedsheet but it appear that there are other factors as well. so i think i would take note of them too.

Dear friend, I change it according to the dirt the bedsheet has. Also in case if any new bed sheets are brought. But at an average I change twice a week. Aslo the pillow covers too.
• China
22 Nov 08
wow, twice a week is fast too and how do you guage the dirt on your bedsheet? i am curious cos i would do so by feeling it on my body. if my body start to itch or have rashes then it is time for me to change. if not, i would leave it as it is

If the place is very dusty then we need to change our bedsheet once a week.Because there will be lot of dust mites in the sheet that will make us feel sick.IF there is no dust in the place. Then the sheet can be changed once a month.

wow, your frequency difference is rather huge from a week to a month. haha. i changed mine about 2 - 4 weeks depending on my tolerance level. at times, when i am in the mood i will change faster if not i will leave it

My wife used to change the bedsheet fortnightly. But before marriage when i was living with my friends, we used to change it monthly. But in my opinion it should change once in a week. But we can't tell others this since it depends mainly on the availability of water in your house.
• China
22 Nov 08
we do not have water problem in the house but i would change according to the weather too. if the season is hot, i would try to change a bit faster than when the season is cold cos i would not perspire so much compare to hot weather. and at times, i knew i must change when i woke up sweaty so i know the bedsheet is likely to stink

Now i am not changing the bedsheet but my wife changes. She changes every fortnightly. But before marriage when i was living with my friends we used to change the bedsheet once in a month or so. Definitely it is more than 1 month. Never came less than that.

haha. we guys tend to be more tolerable towards a dirty bedsheet but not my wife now. while she is also lazy, she would try to force me to change about 2-4 weeks. and i tot that was too fast but now after hearing from so many members, i think we are really lazy

wow, looks like life is tough as a mother for you. washing is a priority in any family esp when your family members tend to soil their cloths faster than others. we wash ours about 2-3 days once and i think you must be washing it daily

I make sure I change my bedsheets once a week sometimes I stretch it to two weeks not more than that.Though they are clean I feel its necessary to change them.I like that clean washed feeling.Only when we change our bedsheets do we get to dusting the bed or else its just made up so I feel its good to change them often.

yes. i thnk now a clean bedsheet would be comfy to sleep in and energised one better for the next day. i do not want to see bugs getting on me and i will try to change them. i would try to change them in under 2 weeks and unlike previously where i keep it for as along as 4-5 weeks at times

My sheets are cleaned at least once per week. I think that it is important to sleep on fresh sheets. The idea of laying in sheets that have been on my bed for longer than a week creeps me out. When I was younger my mother would change our sheets usually twice per week, but Im guessing that is because children and teenagers carry more dirt with them than an adult.

oh, i am getting more and more ashamed of myself. i changed mine fastest in about 2 weeks and i think i belong to the lazy groups. or my tolerance level towards cleaniest is lower. haha

If it's during the hot months, when we tend to sweat more, even with the air-conditioner on; then I would change the sheets every 2 weeks; if not, once a month.
• China
22 Nov 08
wow, same here and i think we are fine with not changing it too frequently cos i find it a chore to do so but i think it is good to change them faster than that now after reading so many members' reply. i would try to stick to a 2 weeks timeframe whenever possible

same here but now i will try to shorten the days to change them after hearing so many replys from members. btw, is the weather hot or cold over at your side and i think that would affect the timing to change them too. if it is hot,i would change more often but like now, it is cold, i am likely to change it in not less than 3 -4 weeks. haha
