I got only one sister and she's older than me. We fondly called her nene. Eversince am young I found her to be earning for the family already. She would send us money and bags of cookies and bread while we're still living in the province and she's working at a bakery in Manila. She was away working, so we're not that close. When I transferred studying in Manila, that's the only time, I get to know her better. She's a very loving sister and she's working so hard in order to help her family. She would provide for our food from morning till midnight, she would see to it that we are equipped with the things we needed at home. Even during the times that we got our own families she would provide her brothers and sister with all the fruits, vegetable, meat, fish and even money we needed. She's not that rich, she's only a fruit and vegetable vendor that shares everything that could be of help to her siblings. She was so loving not only to our parents but even to our children that made us so close to her. I remember during Chritmas time, my brothers and I and some of our children used to hang out in her stall at the market sorrounding her and enjoying seeing her selling fruits to huge crowd of people shopping. When it's time for us to go home, she would be running here and there buying the things she would give us aside from the fruits like apples, oranges and grapes she earlier packed for us. So, when the Noche Buena comes, our table is full of different kinds of fruits and other food usually comes from her. Shes's so caring that the only consolation she got from us is when we lend her money as an additional capital whenever she needs it. Six years ago, we lost our beloved sister nene, an ovarian cancer befelled her. To much our regrets, although were able to have her operated, we're not able to afford her 30.000 pesos per session chemo theraphy. We seek for the assistance of the PCSO, but shes's already dead when the amount for her first chemotheraphy was granted. Very sad to accept that the amount was used in his funeral instead. Now, everytime we take a glance at her stall at Pasay Market as we pass by, my brothers and I can't help but cry. Gone is my great sister, who used to be rushing here and there especially during christmas time. Much more during our Noche Buena, seeing our table not so full with fruits and sweet delicacies the way it is, when my dear sister Nene Nora, still around. We do miss her much especially during Christmas time. Frienda, whom do you miss during Christma time?
