You should try Ubuntu! It's really easy, it's fun and user friendly. I use both, Windows and Ubuntu. I couldn't say which one is my favorite.

Don't choose Windows or Linux! Give Apple Mac a go! It's so easy and simple to use, and now has the capability to run Windows and Linux, all using the one computer - can your Dell or HP cpu do that? I suggest you give Macs a go, because they are really easy to use and understand - nowadays they even run all major Windows applications like Photoshop and most games, as well as offering Mac-only apps like Photo Booth, iPhoto, iWeb and so much more. Don't waste your time spending hours looking for a solution to Error 101-32845 on Windows when you could be using a Mac and never run into this problem again!

You should give Linux a try, I am sure that you wouldn't be disappointed. I currently have 3 computers, one running windows, just for the kids to play sims on really and the other two running linux. On the Desktop machine, I run Mandriva 2009, and have no complaints from it, and on the older Laptop, I have Puppy Linux, which is well suited to older machines, and once again this seems to deal with anything that I throw at it. The good thing I find about Linux, is I never have it just hanging, like in some windows problems, have never had any virus problems etc, and the whole system seems to run a lot smoother than the Windows system. There are a lot of choices of Linux distros to choose from, just visit Distrowatch for a list, then download one, burn it to a CD and then try it out. If you like it then install it or download another distro.
