Are you a sauce person?

When eating, do you use a lot of condiments or sauces to go with your food? I have a friend who hates using sauces because she feels that it "destroys" the dish. But in my opinion, sauces make dishes better and more tasty. My all time favorite is ketchup, but I also like cream based sauces and gravies especially the one from KFC!

i love dishes with sauces, the more the better. however, i don't really add other sauces to my food. i find that the cook should have already added whatever he/she feels is necessary. if i don't like the taste, i'll just eat something else. things like chili sauce, ketchup or soy sauce are not really necessary when i eat. it's only things that i find really tasteless then i will use sauces. and i'll never go back to the same stall again. cheers

i love adding sauce to any dish, that makes a dish more special and appetizing for me, i also have some friends who doesn't like too much sauce, even my niece and nephew don't like a lot of sauce on their food, when its fried, they more like it plain without any sauce of dip. i eat fried foods especially pork chop or chicken and i usually use gravy for the chicken and tomato or banana ketchup for the pork. for fish soy sauce or any other dip will make it.

Oh yes indeed. Both my husband and I are definitely sauce people. We can even finish a bottle a ketchup when eating at McD's. So in our house we don't buy bottle ketchups. We buy the refill packs - more economical for us. besides sauce we also like lots of gravy on our food - we eat rice and dishes for lunch. So whenever I cook, i make sure there's lots of gravy..............have a nice day!!

It depends on what food I'm eating, and what sauces. If it's KFC, I usually go for spicy flavor, so there's no need for tomato sauce. Or even for Burger King's Swiss Mushroom. If it's grilled ribeye, I also don't add any sauce (black pepper or brown sauce), as the juice from the meat itself is good enough. For more bland-tasting dishes like chicken, pork, fish, I would use light soya sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, bbq sauce, ginger and curry gravies. And for spaghetti, it would either be bolognese or the white sauce.

Hello mimico. I love to use condiments, but I don't like to use too much of soybean sauce. To me, a little of soybean sauce is enough. But I like to add some other seasonings as well.

For me it depends on the dish. On dry dishes like nachos or french fries I will add something to them. For nachos, cheese sauce, and French fries ketchup.

Hi mimico, your topic reminded me that for years I used to eat salads without any form of dressing until I moved to Germany. My colleagues were shocked to see that I didn't pour any olive oil or french dressing on the salad, but chose to eat it "dry". Anyway they did add a little variety to my tastes. However, when they eat french fries here, they cover them with so much mayonnaisse that it becomes difficult to find the "chip". I prefer ketchup like you, or the salt and vinegar combination, which I grew up with in Ireland and which I will hopefully experience, when I am at home again over XMass. Have a good weeeknd. Umart

Wow dry salad?! I'll never eat that, but it was obviously healthier. :) I like mayo on fries as well but not slathered completely. Plus ketchup is still the number one condiment for me when it comes to fried food...

My meal wouldn't be complete without condiments. I use different varieties of condiments like soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar with chili and garlic, pickled papaya, kimchi, and a whole lot more. I can say that condiments enhance the flavor of the food and are good appetizers. Bon appetit!

I am not much with food that is dry or that you have to add ketchup, soy sauce or condiments. I like food that are cooked with the sauce itself. Like the well-known Filipino dish "Adobo" or "Afritada". Even only the sauce is good enough to eat with rice! hehehe

I do not like to add sauce to my food i cannot stand ketchup. The only thing i have salt on is chips. I never add it to anything else. My daughter is the same she doesn't like sauce either. But my partner smothers his food in sauce he especially likes brown sauce which he will put on most things.

I like sauces on certain foods. I like tomato ketchup on eggs, tartar sauce and lemon on fried fish, soy sauce on stir-fried vegetables, home-made pasta sauce on pasta, and salt and vinegar on chips (fries). I don't like sauces or dressings on salads though, I like being able to taste the freshness and the flavour of the salad vegetables. Dressings mask this and make them taste less healthy, and also make every bit of salad taste the same! I also don't really like sauces on pizza; pizzas already have a flavour, which is the point of all the toppings. Happy myLotting!

I am a sauce person, I like sauces they perk up the dish to me. I do not like rice, and the only way I will eat rice is if there is gravy on it. I do not like rice and butter, it has to be some sort of gravy. I do not eat much ketchup, I may have a little on french fries, actually french fries are the only thing I use ketchup for. I prefer mustard on hamburgers and hot dogs.

your friend don't like the sauce maybe the reason he(she)doesn't like clean the dish. That I agree your feeling on the sauce could make the food more dilicious and better sensory? My love is salad.
