Help me on Utorrent issue..

hi guys i'm a bit torrent client using utorrent...i have been using utorrent for over a year now and my broadband bandwidth is 256kbps and it takes me around six to six and a half hours to download a movie which is seven hundred mb long..i think it takes too much time to download one movie..some of my friends who have got twombps plan download them within seconds..will i be able to do like that? or will i be able to atleast lessen the time which it is taking now? please help....
