Staying hours on end in front of a computer

Using the computer has been a great experience for me. I have learned a lot, made some work easier. The only problem is I can not stay on it for long. My back would hurt and my eyes would really get tired. I wonder how some people can stay in front of the computer for 8 to 1o hours. How do you go about it? Do you stop for a while and do some other chores?

These suggestions may help. 1.Rub your palms against each other vigorously. Place this warm palm over your eyelids( closed). Press gently. Rotate your palm 3 times in the clockwise direction 3 three times in anticlockwise direction. This will immensly sooth your eyes. 2. Place raw potato slices over your eyelids & feel the heat being absorbed from your eyes. 3. Find a chair that gives proper support to your back. 4. Sit in an erect posture as far as possible. 5. Keep the keyboard flat & not inclined. 6. Do not rest your wrists on the desk in such a way that it cuts off the blood supply. 7. Make sure the room is well ventilated. 8. Plan your browsing in advance & stick o the schedule, so that so dont spend time wandering the net. Hope these tips will be of use to you.

The importance of posture in all our activities cannot be stressed enough. By practicing good posture we keep our bodies in balance and that reduces strain. That being said you will have to find the position that works the best for you. I have some questions you can ask yourself and some suggestions. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? If you are at a desk it is important to have the correct chair. When you sit in your chair you should be able to place both your feet flat on the floor and your lap should be level so that your legs are not pulling. If you can't do this you should get a shorter chair or a foot stool. Your keyboard should be placed so that you don't have to hold your arms in the air to reach it. Neither do you want to have to reach way down. The most important thing to consider to reduce eye strain is the placement of your screen. Are you looking straight at the screen or do you have to bend your neck up or way down to see it? Are you sitting to close to the screen? Or perhaps too far away? It should also be directly in front of you so you don't have to turn your head sideways. Do you perhaps need glasses? I hope some of this will help you enjoy your time spent on the computer better.

Hi, When I first got my laptop I had the same problems. My eyes would burn and I got headachs from the screen. I had to develop my computer eyes. It may sound funny but it's true. Now I can stay on much longer than I really have time, but it's addictive. I am on so many sites it takes me at least 6 hours to get it all done. I have a couple of sites I am trying to make some momney on and then there are my friends I like to chat with. I hope this helps. Christine

If you have something like a long report or project to finish and you need to be in front of the computer for a length of time, the first thing you want to do is get comfortable. Grab your snacks and what not before hand. If you've got a laptop, Great! You can lay out. I'm good for 3 4 5 hours strait. Give some time for bathroom breaks though (you don't want to explode, do you?).
