Last night while visiting a friend during the evening we both stopped talking as the entire sky lit up as bright as day for about 5 seconds. I saw what looked to be a fireball falling from the sky but thought oh some idiot is shooting off flares or fireworks. Her husband thought it was flares and someone was night hunting so he went out to check. I went home and found out that no it wasnt just in their yard...my mom and sister saw it too and they live 15 miles away from where we were. This morning i find out it was a meteor. Did you see it? PS a link to the story on CTV. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20081120/alta_fireball_081121/20081121?hub=SciTech

Hey saundyl! I just answered another discussion about the meteor! Someone else saw it too! I don't know where she lives but her and her husband saw it too! Wow! That's really incredible! I don't think she lives anywhere near you and she said the same thing that you did! Exactly the same story!

How cool! That must have really been something seeing something like that! I would love to see something unusual in the sky but the only things I have ever seen is hundreds of shooting stars one night and that was years ago! I always miss out on the eclipses too just lately as I forget about them.

That is really good you got to see that. It must of been a beautiful site. I am glad it did not land on a house or injure someone. They say seeing a shooting star is lucky, so I hope seeing a meteor will bring you luck also. Take care.

It was really really fast but very cool to see. I appreciate it more now though knowing what it was. I agree its good that it didn't hurt anyone or land on a house.

I actually did make a wish just in case it was a falling star..but I cant tell because then it might not come true! (But i will say it wasn't to win the lottery or anything material)
