Do you Christmas gifts for your kids teachers? My oldest son just started preschool this year and I was trying to write down everyone I needed to buy for so that I could work out a budget. But I am not sure if we are supposed to give gifts to his teachers. I dont want to be the only person that doesnt or does get them something.

YOu definitely should give the teacher a little gift. This year I bought my daughters teacher a set of candles ( I found them after Chrsitmas last year, so they were really inexpensive.) I don't understand the parents who don't give their kids teachers or their kids babysitter a gift at Christmas time. This person spends every day nuturing your child. They deserve a little gift for that.

Unless the parents are on the edge of being destitute, I agree.

My mom always had my sister and I bring gifts for our teachers. My sister is also a teacher, and almost every student she has had brought her a gift. The gifts ranged from homemade cookies to a bracelet to a guinea pig. Yes, you read that correctly. A guinea pig. When she used to teach in Missouri, a student brought her a guinea pig for Christmas. Do you know what was most scary about that? The parents of the child thought it was a good idea.

you dont HAVE to get them a gift. but if you like them, why not pick them up a lil something. they will get tons of junk and a few usable things. i make melt kits with my Mia Bella candles and sell those for $10. most teachers I know have gotten a few from parents. It is a tart warmer, a tealight, 3 mia melts and its pre-wrapped, so parents can just pick it up and go.

When my children were in elementary school and only had one or two teachers I gave them a gift every year. I usually made a platter of cookies or candy and sometimes I would pick up an ornament or pen or something that had #1 Teacher on it or something like that. I always tried to keep it at a minimum, but yet still show my appreciation for their hard work.
