Hi ronald, 'tad' just means small or a bit too much eg: she is a tad smaller than her sister, means she is a 'little' smaller than her sister....or someone might say that's a tad too much meaning a 'little' too much...hope that helps littleowl

In that sense the sister is just a little smaller than her sister. Most of the time tad means just a little as in he is just a little taller than me or he is a tad taller than me.

Tad is another word for little. So She is a tad smaller means ahe is a little smaller. I think it is a British expression. We use it here in the Stated too.The word wee is used also the same way.

It's American, as I'm sure others have told you already. As in "tadpole", the small beginning to a frog. It's amazing to watch them develop into a frog, you should look it up and see some pictures. Anyway, tads are very tiny at first and grow bigger till they are frogs. Tad means a very samll amount!

It means, little ^_^ I dunno how the word comes about, and it's quite popular among the westerners ^_^ hehe.. I guess they use it because it fits into the sentence, and overtime, it becomes one of their own language, just like in singapore, we have our own 'singlish' language, which is becoming more and more common.. haha

Tad means smaller. Now I have an Uncle Tad or Tad Pole, a frog. I'm not sure why he is called that, but I thought i'd throw that in so you know just in case you get another in a different context.

My dear as far as I know the word tad means a small amount or degree. That means therefore that the text you receive which says: "she is a tad smaller than her sister" means she is just some few inches or maybe not even an inch smaller than her sister. I hope I have helped you! Have a nice weekend!

Hi ronaldinu! The word tad means "just a little bit". That's about all it means! And the person writing you the text could have just as easily have said that straight out! People tend to use words like "tad" on occasion and others just don't know what they mean because they aren't used that often. That is the problem with the English language. We just have way too many words too use and it just gets too confusing. There were so many other words to use that you would have easily known instead of confusing you.
