So I've read the book Twilight by stephanie meyer, and I find that it in no way lives up to the hype, its actually one of the most BORING books I've ever read, 2/3rds of the book is kissy kissy goo goo crap that gets boring after the first chapter. The movie however, looks even worse, I saw the trailer the other day and that looks like nothing but corny. I think the only reason girls like the whole "twilight" scene is because stephanie meyer does a very good job at capturing the essence of being in love, something girls never truly experience, therefore girls latch onto every word, in their minds they want to be able to think that such a thing can exist. Agree or Disagree? I'd like to think I'm not the only one thinking it...

I've read the Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn). I think the story is interesting, and I do find Edward fascinating. It's no Harry Potter, in my opinion, still it is a decent read and I was entertained. Maybe because I'm more used to adult PNR books, I find Twilight a little tame. I've read of hotter and sexier vampires than Edward, but he is sweet in his own way. Still, I can understand the attraction among teens. However, if you are not into sweet, romantic, partly cheesy books, I would say, avoid it. I don't think I'll reread the books at all, for me, they are more like light reading to simply pass the time. Although, I have to admit I had a hard time finishing the last book. I feel like Breaking Dawn just dragged on and on, and could used some good editing. Yes, I'm definitely curious how the movie stands in comparison to the book. That I think is enough reason for me to check it out. However, I'll probably wait a week after it is released before I go to see it. I don't feel like battling a horde of sceaming teenagers...LOL..

Actually, I haven't read the book. But I will see the movie to see what this hype is all about. It seems that a lot of teens are waiting to see the movie. Then maybe I will read the book after seeing the movie.

I saw the trailer the other day, too. I wondered about it, briefly. I wasn't going to spend too much time thinking about it. I guess it just didn't "grab" me. I'm glad to read your critique of it! Now, I won't waste my time or money. I'll follow your lead and forget about it. It might be a movie for the gals and not so much for the guys, though. Time will tell, I suppose! It does sound like a movie that won't be making much money!
