With our kids I wanted to know. With my first I wanted to know because we had to buy our baby stuff a little at a time so I wanted to know whether I should be buy pink or blue. Our ultrasounds here are the new 3d ones though so they couldn't tell what i was having. It was nice to be surprised but I still wanted to know with our next one.

i agree it is easier to know what to buy than to buy neutral things

I think that people should decide if they want to know that by thamselves, this can help. Its nice surprise to sea wheaher is a girl or a boy on birth of child. Thats one way to make easier to mother because she wont think at pain but she would be interested very much then, :) its nice thing, not to know, isnt it? But WHO CAN BE PATIENT?? LOL

I think it is a personal choice weather or not to find out the gender of your baby. I found out with my first child that we were going to have a boy. It was fun to know what we were having so we could decide on a name and what color and theme to do the nursery in. We only have one child so far but the next time I get prego I think I will want to find out the gender of the baby again. Congrats on your pregnancy. Have a good night.

I love to decorate so when I found out I was prego I couldn't wait to decorate a nursery. We called our son apple or apple seed before we knew he was a boy because I craved apples a lot of the time. And then after we found out he was a boy we called him Johnny Apple seed until we decided on the name Mason for him.

During my first pregnancy I didn't mind which gender my baby was but I had a strong feeling that I was expecting a boy. The hospital didn't have the policy of telling parents the gander at the 20 week ultra sound scan. I found I was right, my baby was a boy, and I found this out at the birth. |My first son is now 13 years old. Times have changed considerably and there are now baby scan places in lots of different locations in my home country. They do all sorts of different scans that the parents have to pay for. The gender scan can be done as early as 16 weeks pregnancy. During my second pregnancy I so hoped I was going to have a girl. But I was wrong, the scan revealed I was having a boy. That was correct and he is now a happy little 18 month old. I was able to buy blue bedding and clothes because I knew I was having a boy. During my first pregnancy I had to buy neutral colors like white and yellow. I was disappointed the my second child was going to be a boy. I so wanted to have a girl and I was very sad for a couple of days. I soon got used to the idea that I was having a boy and perhaps I could have a girl in the future. Then at 36 weeks pregnancy I had the terrible news that my second son would have spina bifida. He had 2 operations and then came out of special intensive baby care at 2 weeks old. He is now a happy little 18 month old and he can sit up and crawl. I don't think the gender of the first baby matters so I didn't long to find out before the birth. It is lovely if the second baby has the gender that is the opposite. A gender scan should be fun and the baby is innocent whether is it a he or a she. I do

I'd love to find out if my baby's a girl or boy. I'm 6 months on the way now and last month I had an ultrasound. The doctor performing the procedure said he thinks its a girl but he wasn't absolutely sure yet as the baby's organ might not have descended yet, which is why he suggested to have the procedure repeated probably next month. I'm very excited! I really don't have any preference on my baby's gender but it would be great to know and be able to plan things ahead, especially on the name.
