Thanksgiving is right around the corner and my favorite thing to do on Thanksgiving is watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I've been watching the Macy's Parade every since I was a little girl. Now its a Thanksgiving tradition for me. I love watching the parade. I love seeing the bands, dance team, and singers perform. My favorite part is looking at the huge different character balloons floating in the sky. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade presented by Macy's Department store. The three-hour event is held in New York City starting at 9:00 a.m. EST on Thanksgiving and it airs on tv stations NBC and CBS. This year will be Macy's 82nd Thanksgiving Day Parade. Do you watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? If so, whats your favorite part? Someday I would love to actually go see the parade in New York.

I've been watching it every year on tv since I was a little girl while still living in NYC, and with the exception of me either working(like last year)or overseas(like the year I was overseas in Korea for the Air Force), I missed it. But this year since I am not working, I will be watching as well as preparing foods and such this year and looking forward to it. I love watching the dolls in the air, the stars that come, and just enjoying the day no matter what.

It's cool to see another sister who enjoy the Macy's Parade as well. I have been watching this for the longest. Thanks for the question.

Your welcome, I thought I was the only sister that watch this too. But I think it is a great way to start off your Thanksgiving day. I try to get my daughter to sit still and watch it. I can't wait to see what stars and balloons they will have this year.

I am really not a parade person, but I do watch a little of the parade, before my husband starts watching the various football games. I worked at Macy's for many years and was offered before to be a participant in the parade, but I declined. Actually every year they would ask the employees to be a part of the parade. I hope the weather is not too cold, for those who are going to be spectators, but those who are watching it from the comfort of their own homes, in my opinion have the best seats in the house. Happy Thanksgiving

I would have love to have participated in the parade, at least one time. But your right, watching it from the comfort of your home is the best seat because you can see everything up close and it is warm inside. I hope its not too cold, I'm not a fan of cold weather.

We've watched it a few times. I will try to watch it again this year. The giant balloons and the performances are always the best part.

Yes, I agree, they are the best part. My daughter loves the balloons. It amazes me how big a balloon can be.

I don't think I have ever watched the whole parade. But I watch bits and pieces here and there, unless of course my husband changes the channel on me again, lol. I didn't grow up in this country, so Thanksgiving day has always also been kitchen duty for me;)

Lol, it is a long parade. It last 3 hours, its hard to watch the whole parade when your cooking to. My mom does the Thanksgiving dinner and me and my sisters and dad helps here. I only help when the commercial comes on. But the turkey is just about done when the parade comes on.
