Do you tell stories to your baby while pregnant?

Since I was about 3 month pregnant, I started to tell stories to my baby in my tummy every night before I sleep. Although I knew he was not able to listen to me at that time, I just continue telling stories to him, also this helps me to practise my story telling skill. I started to find stories in the Internet. Then, I went and found some story books and read them to my baby. I started to buy some story books, so that I can tell the stories to him, also when he grows up, he can read them by himself. I believe reading stories to baby is good for him or her. I think letting my baby always listen to my voice and feeling I'm talking to him will make him feel good. What do you think? Do you tell stories to your baby?

I have read that this is very good, that it gives children a bit of an advantage later on in life, regardless of whether your baby understands or not i am sure it is very soothing for him or her, listening to your voice, i think it is a lovely thing to do, I also read that it has been proven that babies in the womb dream so maybe your baby is dreaming about your beautiful voice or the stories...i think it is a nice thing you are doing...

Angel avatar - Angel avatar, blue angel
I made your avatar a little bit smaller so maybe if you try putting this one up as your avatar it might move like mine, I made it the same size as mine so hopefully it will....

Thank you very much for editing the avatar for me, it's so kind of you. Now my angel is moving happily. ^_^ I was figuring out how to change my avatar these few days, finally I've found it. Yeah, I actually read that babies can listen to sounds when the they are 4 to 5 month pregnant. I think it's a good for my baby to listen to my voice always... ^_^

If I have a wife in the future I want her to be like you. I think unborn babies can hear a bit from the outside. It is because when they are already born, they can recognize the voice of their mother. I guess what you're doing is good since you'll be really prepared in the future in telling him stories.

Yeah, I've read that when the baby is about 4-5 month pregnant, he or she is able to listen to the sound from outside. Thus, pregnant women are encouraged to talk to the babies always, it's not only to comfort the baby but also let the baby recognizes the mother's voice. Fathers are encouraged to do the same too. Besides story telling, singing songs to baby is good too. ^_^

I'm not sure but maybe singing songs to the baby will make it a singer later on. :)

I didn't tell stories to my baby when pregnant but I was talking to her all the time. From day one when she was born, I was telling her stories every night for over 8 years.

Talking to baby is good too. You are really very patient, you've been telling stories to her for 8 years. I don't know if I have the patience to do so.

My mom told me that she did read me a story while I was on her tummy. I"ll surely do that if I will have a child. Happy posting...

Yeah, I think it's good to do that. It also builds up the bonding between you and the baby. ^_^
