Obama is assembling the best team available. He is not as concerned with ideology either conservative or liberal, or republican or democrat. Obama is concerned with getting things done. Which is the same thing that the American people are concerned with which is why Obama was elected.
People are tired of the pettiness that permeates our society.
The Obama adminsitration is taking shape
and appears to be as follows.
Secretary of State: Hillary Clinton
Secretary of Defense: Robert Gates
Health and Human Services: Tom Dascle
Attorney General: Eric Holder
United Nations Representative: Caroline Kennedy
Secretary of Energy:
Secretary of the Treasury: Timothy Gaitner
Secretary of Education: Colin Powell
Secretary of Agriculture
Secretery of the Interior Charles Ogletree
NSA
National Intelligence: Chuck Hagel
Secretary of Commerce
Secretary of Housing and
Urban Development
Homeland Security John Kerry
Secretary of Transportation
As you see there are still many position unfilled and those I am projecting as good. Please tell me what you think.

Did you just make that list up? Half the people you listed aren't even being considered for the positions you put them in. So far his administration is filled with far left democrats and former Clinton appointees. He's picking people who did the job with Clinton so he won't be expected to direct or lead them. He hasn't shown any desire for bipartisanship. He's 100% focused on having liberals run every aspect of this nation.

Robert Gates hasn't even been asked if he wants to stay on as Secretary of Defense yet. Yes, it would be good of Obama to keep him as he has proven himself well. Let's hope he does.
Ogletree makes sense to be in Obama's cabinet, both have plagiarism in their background.
But please explain to me where the "bipartisan" or "not concerned with ideology" is here. Except for Gates, all of these people are liberal democrats. Most of then have expressed total hatred for conservatives and Eric Holder once repeatedly stabbed a knife into a desk naming republicans yelling "die! die! die!"
No, there is no truth to the assertion that Obama isn't concerned with ideology or party... or even chance.
Of course his team hasn't been put together yet, nor has he even been sworn in as President. Time will tell whether his liberal democrat team will be good for the nation or a detriment.

A few of the slots you list are rumored to be different by many of the reports I've been hearing. Nonetheless, I think the underlying point you make is a good one. Obama seems to be attempting to put together an administration based on competence and not a small measure of vision. Certainly, that's what we all desparately need. Wish us all luck. At best, it's going to be a rough ride.
