Keep Xp or upgrade to Windows 7?

I've been wondering for a while if it will be worth upgrading. I personally think it's worthless to upgrade to Vista and I actually see Vista more as a downgrade compared to Xp. Do you guys think Windows 7 will be that much better than Vista or even worth upgrading from Xp?

Some people say XP is too old now, but a SP3 was released not too long ago, but it can't last forever, Windows 7 will be a fixed Vista but it will still have very high hardaware requirements to work as fast XP. If you aren't gonna buy a new computer by the time Windows 7 is released you'll have two options use an old unsupported XP, or use an up to date OS with a better UI than Vista and that runs on the same computer as XP, Linux.

whats wrong if your windows xp is old? as long as it can float your boat right? it can still support most of the application coming out today. and compared to the "NEW" os, apps today are more designed to run with xp, rather than vista. (even if you see a logo saying "vista compatible" it is still possible to have conflict with the os and the application

Yeah, i mean not really a must to upgrade to Windows Vista considering it's high requirements for computer power. My friend who's been using Windows Vista told me it eats up a whopping 11gig just for the operating system. So imagine how much storage will go to waste when you can have only 2gigs of hard disk space for Windows XP. I even think it's released at a wrong time. I'm familiar with Windows 7 though but i sure hope it's better than Vista.

Microsoft is a business oriented software developer. i say this because of the mere fact that they sell they product without perfecting that product. when windows xp first came out, it was stupid. nobody wanna leave windows 98 because xp was not stable, lots of bugs. but the concept was good and they have a good idea with windows xp all in all. making windows 98 better and more user friendly. they just decided to sell it to millions of users and make these users their personal beta testers (for free). what happened was, underground people stepped up, did some tweaking of their own, and tried to make apps which windows xp lacked. then microsoft developed this underground apps and made a license for it. and same goes for vista. it's new, it's dumb, it's lame. but they are introducing new technologies like facial recognition and thumb print recognition. plus the new cool features when it comes to graphics. what i don't like is announcing windows 7 when they haven't perfected vista just yet.for me thats the lamest thing to do.

Hello theonerm5. In my case, we are using Windows Xp and I really like it. I don't hve plans to upgrade it yet because I am comfortable using it and I still don't have a problem with it.I may consider upgrading but it would take long before I will finally decide to upgrade it.

The reason they are coming out with Windows 7 so fast is because Vista is having some serious issues. It's a big failure. Compare the life span of Vista and XP. It's too big a difference, to be honest. If Vista is so stable and successful, why do they want to rush and come out with Windows 7?
