There's going to be three footballers competing to get that spot. Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi. Kaka is great player to can get pass other players, plays very intelligently, has great pace, and can score great goals. Messi is fantastic dribbler, I saw the Barcelona-Man Utd game last season and there's this one time when he got passed Ferdinand, and the skill that he did was so shocking, it was so fast. But Ronaldo contributed so much to Man Utd, he scores goals, he can take free kicks, can take penalties, have got good aerial ability, can dribble well. Who do you think will be the World's best footballer? How do they compare?

Ronaldo is certainly one of the best players of modern day football....however to b the greatest n d best, he has to perform consistently against bigger opponents at bigger stages..He has to mature a bit more as a player tactically..One successful year wid ManU doesnt prove nething and he shouldnt be complacent or he wud end up being another David Beckham..

I think Kaka deserves to be world no 1 footballer. With his skill, his attitude, he deserves to get Ballon d'Or or FIFA Best Player.

Yes, all three of them are excellent players. Kaka, Messi and Ronaldo are all excellent players. But I think Ronaldo will be voted the best player in the world mainly due to his unbelievable achievements last season and his contributions to Man Utd. His goals tally is also outstanding. When you compare this to Messi and Kaka's achievements last season, then you'll understand exactly why Ronaldo should be one winning that award.

Well for his last season form i think he deserves the award. Even Torres had an excellent season. But for me C.Ronaldo is the no.1 contender. And i guess Torres is in the top 3.

Let's hope he does win. But the question now is, can be continue his consistency. We don't want to him to have one good season only. Let's hope we can continue to do great things for Man Utd for more seasons to come.

i think that ronaldo is the best. he combines the skills of both kaka and messi and has the ability to score from about everywhere on the pitch.

That's a good way to explain Ronaldo's attributes. He combines the ability of both Kaka and Messi.

i dont think ronaldo deserves to be the worlds no. one footballer. i have seen kaka and messi play and they far more class players and you cant compare them to ronaldo. they are much much better compared to ronaldo. its very difficult to say who is best among kaka and messi. if ronaldo wants to match messi and ronaldo then he needs to play more for the team then for him. i have seen ronaldo want to score goals when there are other players who is in better position to score. i know he has the ability to score great goals but he need to put his team ahead of himself. kaka and messi are way way ahead of ronaldo. happy mylotting!!!!!!

Thank you for your comment. I respect your opinion. I do agree that there are many aspects in which Messi and Kaka are better than Ronaldo. But I believe the enormous amount of goals that he scored and the amount of assists he made for Man Utd just gives him the edge in becoming the world's best footballer. Messi and Kaka on the other hand, didn't contribute much to the achievement of their team last season. Barcelona and AC Milan didn't achieve much. Ronaldo scored 40+ goals, and that's unbelievable for a winger. Scoring goals is part of being a good player in the midfield or striker's position, so because of that, I think Ronaldo will win. Yes, Messi and Kaka are superb players also, just that I think Ronaldo has the edge. Skill-wise, yes there are aspects in which Messi and Kaka are better, but my reason for this opinion is because of what Ronaldo's achieved.

Technically, he deserves it. Wheather a player deserves the title of World No.1 footballer, it depends on both the performance of the player and the success of the team. Kaka? What does Ac Milan get last year? The league champion? The UEFA champion? None, because its poor performance, the team cannot play the UEFA Champion League. And mesi? Well, Barcelona's last-year achievement is not bad. But messi? He is too young to get the title. And he is also too inexperienced to play the core role of a football team. So what can we expect more to Ronaldo? He is absolutely qualified to be the top-notch player. And I bet he will get all the honor to show his talented footbal ability. Welcome to the football world. One day you are in, the next day, you are out. So keep practicing you football talent and bring your team more champions, or you will be eliminated as far as expected.

The majority of wins that Man Utd had in the last two seasons, are because of Ronaldo's performance. Either he scored a goal or two in the match, or even if he doesn't score, he might be the one who provided the goalscoring assist. His contribution to the team was so incredible, and that's why he deserves to be the No. 1 footballer.

Ronaldo is a gifted player.Last year Ronaldo's performance inspired Manchester United to EPL and champion's league triumphs. But none of Kaka or Messi could win their home league also.Though Ronaldo did not perform well against any top club but scored over 40 goals in a season, you can't ignore that, this is not at all an ordinary achievement.Messi was the only player who played well last season for Barcelona, none of Messi's team-mates played well(I missed Geovanni dos Santos).Ronaldo in all sense deserves the best footballer award.Hope I justified my answer.

Yes, exactly. Scoring 40+ goals in a season, for a winger, is not something ordinary. It's not ordinary for a striker either. But for a winger, it's unbelievable. So, I think, because of that achievement, he'll win it. Yes, he has his weaknesses. There are times when he is not composed, and keeps losing the ball. We have to consider the fact that he's younger than Kaka and tends to less composed due to less experience. But we have to look the overall picture. And his contributions for Man Utd in the last two seasons is just too incredible to ignore.
