I just finished a book called "Remember me?" by Sophie Kinsella. The main character, Lexi Smart had an accident and got Retrogade Amnesia. Last thing she remembered was year 2004 and when she woke up, it was already 2007! She wasn't in a coma. The hospital admitted her only for 5 days. She didn't know that for the last 3 years, she became a boss in the company she was working (she was a plain employee back 2004), she already had a husband (a very cute one)and a "lofty-living" house. Her sister became a rebellious teenager, her 3 childhood friends were no longer her friends, she became the b#%$h-boss-from-hell. As always, Sophie Kinsella showed her witty side, while still delving deeply on the case and incidents. This is the 1st time I read about it.I've researched about this type of amnesia right after. But I haven't encountered nor read people, not fiction though, that experienced this. It might be very very depressing for the victim to have memory loss. Here's another thought: When i was reading the book, I can't help but think that having this kind of amnesia is also a simple escape, a good excuse to forget and unlearn things that you did previously, especially those things you id wrong in the past. Hypothetically, if ever you experience this rare amnesia, at what point in your life would you like to simply forget? And why?Appreciate your responses. Thanks!
