What will you be doing this Thanksgiving?

What will you be doing this Thanksgiving? Most people are going somewhere to have Thanksgiving dinner or are hosting dinner in their home. I will be going with my family to my sister-in-laws house. We each bring something to help out and it is a good time. It is mostly my husband's family because my parents are gone and sure do miss them especially this time of year. Sometimes i think it would be fun to just go somewhere other than family's house for the 4 day weekend like Vegas or something and do something other than the traditional. When I was younger I wanted to go snow skiing on this day because it would not be that crowded. If I did go somewhere else I would probably be missing the family gathering. What about you? Do you do the traditional dinner or do you do something else?

I will spend from 7am-3pm working at the hospital- it was my job and I honestly don;t mind, because as much as I don't want to be there, the patients want to be there even less. This is a responsibilty I knew I would have when I decided to be a nurse- so I take it all in stride. When my shift is over I will go with my family to my mothers house- where she will have prepared a traditional Turkey day dinner and I will be with our entire family- brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews- then I will come home and rest in peace. Enjoy Turkey and happy mylotting.

This is a pretty good discussion and I am sure there are a lot of people out there that have been plans for this upcoming Thanksgiving whether it be going to be with the family,or having their family come to them, and then I am sure there are people who do not do anything big for Thanksgiving either because they have a small family or because they do not like celebrating holidays which I can understand both points of view and I respect both points of view, that is cool that you will be going with your family to your sister in laws house, and that is good that you each bring something to help out,and this is definitely a good time since the economy is so bad right now,and I am sorry that it is mostly your husbands family because your parents are gone, and I bet you do miss them, and it might would be fun to go somewhere other than a family members house, for the four day weekend, and Vegas would probably be a good choice, because then you could celebrate without doing the traditional Thanksgiving feast, and that is cool that when you were younger you wanted to go snow skiing on this day because it would not be crowded, and I am sure everyone who went somewhere else would miss the family gathering,I know Thanksgiving is just a week or so away, and I like Thanksgiving because it means a turkey dinner and spending time with family members while giving thanks for all that we have, every year for Thanksgiving the family always gets together at my great grandmothers house to eat turkey, and it is always nice, even though over the past couple years fewer and fewer people have showed up for Thanksgiving, which is really sad, especially since there is feuding on my moms side of the family and people do not want to be around other family members and that is part of the reason not many people show up for Thanksgiving now,and you could definitely say we do the traditional dinner, and on my dads side he is only left with his sister because his parents have passed away, and so has his other sister so we do not see them at Thanksgiving but we do see them at Christmas, and this Thanksgiving is going to be a little different, because a week ago on Friday my grandpa fell and broke his hip,and had to go to the hospital and have surgery so now he has to use a wheel chair and a walker for like six weeks until he can put weight on his hip,so that means if we did not do Thanksgiving at my great grandmothers than we would have to do it there this year, just like we normally do Christmas at either my parents house,or my uncles house on my moms side, but we will have to do it at my great grandmothers house this year so we might not even have time to put our own tree up this year, the whole family is worried about my grandpa but that is even more of a reason to get together and give thanks for the fact that he is doing okay, and that is at home with us instead of at the hospital and we are all glad he came home in time to be with the family for Thanksgiving.
