helium is trash...the writers are all terrible low quality work..it is very lame. a waste of time of income, but maybe good for students and teens for part-time job.

I agree that there is some poor quality writing at Helium, but those writers will either learn to improve or they will not earn any money there. Under the new system the more writing stars you have the bigger the upfront payments you get for each new article. You don't earn stars by writing trash.

Their ranking system is very difficult to kick-start, too. I have five articles up on there at the moment and rate things when I can, but still have no stars in either writing or rating! :(

Sorry, you're misinformed if you think you can join Helium and make that kind of money. Most articles on Helium are paid for views, and it only amounts to pennies. You can also write articles for the Marketplace on Helium, which is where publishers say what they want written and how much they will pay. It's true that some of them pay very well, but your article will compete with all the others that have been written on the topic, and usually only one of them is accepted for payment. You have to be a very good writer to be aceepted by publishers who are paying out big bucks.

I have sold 10 articles in the marketplace at Helium since July. For each article I was paid between $16 and $32. I have not yet tried any writing for any of the longer assignments that offer between $100 and $200. I am a premier writer so I shall try writing for some of these in future.
The articles I was paid for were on a variety of different research based topics, from travel to industrial paints. It's a big thrill for me whenever an article is accepted.
Half the articles I submit don't get accepted, but any unsold articles transition to my list at Helium and start earning revenue share with all the others. Under the new payment system introduced this month I will receive an additional fee from Helium, for each article that does not sell.

I am a helium member and posted several articles there but up to now my earnings did not go up that high. You can earn at helium through ratings from co-members regarding your article. Maybe they are talking about the marketplace in helium. You can participate in the marketplace where you got to choose a topic that you could write and submit it to the marketplace but it is not a sure job because it depends on the publisher who would he choose.
It is not true that you can earn there $35-100 per article in instant. You gotta work hard and write good articles in order to reach that amount. But it takes effort and times before having that amount. If you want to earn that amount, you better join elance, scriptlance or guru and bid for writing projects, they usually pay high depending on your proposal. I earned $20 per article in 2 days at scriptlance and it's a long term relationship with the clients.

Yeah, have looked into that in craiglist, will only get it when someone buys your article with that rate $35-200.
