Which DSLR should i get?

I might be getting a Dslr for chritmas... I have been looking at the Cannon Xs, XTi and the XSi Also been looking at the Nikon D60 which is only about $30 more then Cannon XS but I am not sure what one to get... I thought i'd love to get the XTi but I am not sure if that is in my price range. The other ones however do fit into it a little more. price is my main issues but I want to be happy with what i get! This will be my FIRST DSLR... and so i've read so many reviews that say if you getting your first Dslr that any of them will be wonderful and that is true. Any of them listed will be a very nice upgrade from my kodak p850 P&S. So if you had to pick out those five cameras which one to do you think would be the best pick? or is there anything else i should be looking into as well? as for what i do most with my photos. I do anything pretty much. I would say though that i want something thats gonna be able to get action shots good, decent night shots, good close ups, I do a lot of animals, people, things and places. oh and if anyone owns if of those cameras or has owned more then one of them.. what do you think are there high and weak points?
