im "about to" get married this january :-) and i just sent today the content of our invitations to the printer :-) honestly, i really dont need pans and pitchers so we wanted to put "in lieu of gifts, the couple would really appreciate gifts in monetary form.. " but i read in the internet that it is rude to mention anything about gifts in your invitation since you are kind of "dictating" that they should give you gifts instead of just inviting them to enjoy the moment with you and your husband! :D im really torn between putting the "monetary" note or not. A part of me is believing that it is really kind of RUDE but another half of me tells me that "this is the new age, be practical" :D

Congratulations on your marrige! It's really busy for you and your family these days. I've attended 2 wedding in about a month, and everyone gave the newly-wed couples MONEY, no gifts acutally. Best wishes for you:-)

That's a great idea. Maybe some years later when I get married, I'll take the same measure as you;-) Money is very useful and practical, especially for new couples. Thanks for your reply. And enjoy your weekend with your family!
