I currently speak three languages. They are English, Malaysian and Indonesian. English being the main business language here has become part of me since I was still in my primary school and it helped me a lot when I further my studies in the US many years ago. Malaysian language is my mother tongue and it is used mainly for me to communicate with my family and relatives and some of the friends who prefer to converse in Malay rather than any other language. It is also the national language of my country. Lastly, I had to learn Indonesian when I got married to my wife who is an Indonesian. It is important for me to learn that as we frequently go back to Indonesia for our holidays and with that I would be able to communicate comfortably with all her families, relatives and friends. I think I would not be able to learn any new language anymore for now. Cheers!

I wish you would have elaborated a bit on your knowledge of languages. Which is your native tongue? Also, what brought you to learning the other two languages? My native language is American English. I felt the need to specify because there is a bit of a difference in word choice and meanings, as well as some of the word-spellings. In Elementary School, I was taught Spanish, although I never learned enough that would get me by. I moved, and went without foreign language for the next five and a half years. In my last two years of high school, I picked up Spanish again, but, once again, not enough to get me by. I am not interested in the language, which is my biggest roadblock in trying to learn it. However, I am really interested in learning Swedish, so that is my current project. I have about $100 worth of books that will aid me in learning the language, as well as a friend that I can go to every time I am stuck. I am picking up on the language rather quickly, but, I believe, that is because I am actually interested in learning.

Thanks for your interest, Anyway, both my parents are Spanish-Filipinos. We're born and raised here in the Philippines. We grew up speaking Spanish at home, but we learned English at school because that's the primary language used in sechools here. Naturally I speak Filipino too. It is always good to know or speak as many languages as possible, I think. Gives us better chances of connecting with other people. Thanks for responding though and have a good one!

I'm fluent in Serbian and English, and I could probably get around a bit with French if it were absolutely necessary because I've studied it in school. We did about 9 years Arabic in school as well but I would definitely *not* be able to understand people speaking or talk to people. xD I really want to learn Russian though. =P
