Why do you add friends in myLot?

I was happy the first time I received a friend request here in myLot. And it took a long time before I started adding friends.
One reason why I add friends is because we have the same geographical area, or country or near my country. I usually chose also those who post good comments on my discussions. There is also a big possibility of me adding a user if he/she posts good discussion.
How about you? What are the reasons why you add friends here in myLot?
Having friends here make us earn more because they may be notified each time we create a discussion.
Do you have reasons for not approving a friend request?

I think adding friends is part of the game. Without physical friends you will be lonely and here without many friends your discussion is left on its own without wide exposure. But be wary when choosing friends as they might not be what you expect them to be. They are in your list as decoration and never come to respond to your discussion. Choose wisely.

I add people because of not where they are from or how close they are but by the answers I see in there comments they post and the ideas and how they are. I still clear of judgmental ones and get along with the happy go lucky ones. Maybe it is because they life my mood. I also go by their discussions they post and how much I enjoy them. I had all my friends on to be notified of their discussions but had ot turn a few off due to the high inbox notification emails after I reached over a 1,000 I had to turn alot off.

Me too. I add friends and judge them by the way they post discussions and comments. It is the only way we would know something on who they are. We can look at their profile but places, name and age doesn't really matter for those who we want to be friends with.

Fo a few reasons actually.
I have close to 600 right now.
I go through my list about every three months weeding the list thinner as well.
I add almost every request that comes in to me also.
These are a few reasons I add friends:
1) so they have more discussions to respond to possibly.
2) so I have more discussions as well to read and or respond possibly.
3) for the learning of other cultures etc.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi wrangel, I al too relatively knew on mylot - just over two months. I have been happy making friends and like to check out their discussions. And yes, I do try to respond to most of their discussions. There is nothing wrong with helping each other. Regretfully, I have added one person as a freind that I wish that I hadn't as this is because we do not have much in common and I find it difficult to respond to ninety nine per cent of the postings! But I try. Interesting, this person does not respond to mine but that is o.k. with me. I am becoming friends with my friends and this gives me joy - especaily when I find out that we have so much in common together. God Bless!

I think the reason for adding friend in mylot is I want know more friend in there ,it will make me don't feel lonely .I 'm a new comer in mylot,so I have never refused a friend request.in fact, I never care how much money I could earn in mylot ,I think it is just a place which could make me feel relax.

That's good. You will really stay long here for that reason.
There are times when you really feel relaxed here especially when you receive an email message saying you were selected for best response. There are many things to experience here.
Welcome to myLot... :)

I've understood this place better from a perspective of having friends and making new ones. Today i'm here only because of friends and the interaction. This is why i accept friend requests and only in instances that i find something extremely abusive or of a content that i do not like in the persons previous interactions would i decline one.

If I get a friend request then I will check out their profile, the discussions they have started and their responses to others. Those are the things that help me to decide who I will add as a friend and generally that is most who make a friend request. I do not add anyone who cannot string 2 words together, who posts endless one-liner discussions or responses. Initially I was not quite so discerning and added everyone who made a friend request. lol
I always check the discussions started by those on my list of friends and if I find any there that appeal to me, then I will respond to those discussions. That is what I believe friends are for but it does not mean that I automatically respond to every discussion a friend starts.
If there are no discussions started by friends that I find appealing enough for me to want to respond, then I just check through the other discussions to see if there is anthing appealing. Sometimes I find some and other times I do not. It is a bit like a lucky dip, just as it is when choosing who to accept as a friend and who to deny.

I also do the same. I usually check the discussion made by friends and try to look for some which I can respond to.

I used to add everyone but only turn the email alerts on of those people whom I could relate to in some way via their discussions. These days however, I'm getting requests from people much younger than me who have hundreds of people on their friends list. To me this is very impersonal so I figure they won't be offended if I refuse as they probably don't care who they request...I am just another on their list. I'm not interested in that.

Why I add friends simply because I want to meet someone on this site. It will be great to be friend with somebody even if only to this site. And besides I think I can view their discussions easily too.

mylot is a site where you can earn by posting well i know you know that har har har. so having more friends is merrier for they will help you with your discussion and at the same time you receive a notifacation what your friends started... just like i got from you. i post a response in a discussion that my friends started as long as i know what to say. if it is about something i dont have knowledge of then i wont barge in. for me i accept friends request and send friends request for the more the merrier. and if i can not log in at mylot i still can see what are the discussions i miss for it is all in my email
