What Version of the Bible do you prefer to read?

Do you have a version of the Bible that you prefer to use or read from? Do you use the same one your church uses? My church uses the New International Version. Mine happens to be the New American Standard. Mine, also, is a Life Application Bible..it has notes and explainations of the many of the verses and chapters, as well as info on the writers. I find that while there are a few differences in wording between the two, I am able to follow along with no problems. When I go to Bible Study I am the only one with the NAS, so sometimes they will ask me to read the passage we are studying from mine, just to see what the text differences are. My husband is a die hard King James reader. I bought him a copy of the NIV, as he has recently started going to my church. He said it will take some getting used to. A friend from church suggested he get a parallel bible..that has the KJB and NIV side by side on each page. She is going to let Rick borrow hers, to see if he likes it before he buys his own.

I like the large print Amplified Bible my husband bought me few years back. Not only can I read the words clearly, but the amplified messages included with the written word of God, helps me better understand the meaning behind some of the passages. I highly recommend that version.

I really don't have a preference but the Amplified is one I use a lot when I go to Sunday service.
