i've been in several countries already and i guess it's pretty much the same with LA. only it's smaller, dirtier and older and much much corwded than most cities,...depends on what part of the philippines you go to...Manila of course is the capital---so it's the most advanced place...we have great malls, business districts and the like....we are also known to have the best beaches--boracay, palawan and so much more...the climate---well it's humid...it's pretty much like a really hot summer day in california--only it's permanent---rains once in a while too which is bliss for some...the people are friendly and hospitable, but extremely shy too...you'll really have to see it for yourself to know what i'm talking about---some love it and some hate it...but one thing's for sure---it's worth a try...

Thank you for describing the Philippines very well, I have been to L.A too and it is also dirty and plenty beggars along the street but i like what you've said friendly and hospitable, but shy, maybe ten years ago. I've seen London , its cool and clean, Buckingham palace , your museum was splendid. Well, the Philippines is a simple, cheap place to visit. tourist are everywhere. If you want a cool and cozy place, go to Baguio or Tagaytay, food we serve everything you like. Our beaches was like you are no longer in the Philippines for most are crowded by all race of tourist, happy posting.

Philippines is a beautiful country in the far east with unique culture and tradition. We are the only christian country in Asia, predominantly Catholic, we observed solemnities and religious celebrations with deep reverence. We have a long celebration of Christmas which kick on December 16 with "misa de gallo"or early dawn mass, we value tradition including family reunion, we make it a point to go home with our family to celebrate christmas and new year with them. We celebrate feasts for different saints also. We value family, so Philippines, apart from Malta in Europe, is the only country in the world which has no Divorce Law. There is only an annulment which is a long and tedious process for couples, this is due to the fact that christian marriages cannot be dissolved. We have big cities in the Philippines, exciting and lot of fun. Even with terrorism threats, our cities are always safe. Davao city, where I live right now, is one of the most livable cities in Asia with its clean and fresh water and less traffic. We have wonderful foods, fruits and amenities, mostly, we rely on farming and fishing as main livelihood resources. We have big and booming industries of food, manufacturing, beverages and electronic devices. We have a lasting tradition where we respect our elders so much that we taught to obey their words whatever happens, we kiss our elders' hands as kind of respect and obedience. We take extra care for our parents and grandparents, we never send them to caregiving homes or nursing homes. In the Philippines, nursing homes are unpopular because we personally took care for our aging relatives. Philippines is composed of forest with wild animals and thich vegetation, you can still find virgin forest in the hinterlands. We have wonderful beaches and mountain resorts. We have only two climates: wet and dry seasons. People here are very hospitable and kind where we treated foreigners as precious human beings. Hope you have a nice picture of our country.

..Philippines is a small country with hospitable people.. There are big cities too and villages.. Usually, you find people staying in the villages more hospitable and humble than those in the cities.. We also have different types of jobs.. This days, there are big foreign companies who are establishing their business here.. we do have very happy christmas here.. People would cook different kinds of food.. Salads, spaghetti and barbecue can't be missed during these holidays.. Most people here are Christians like Roman Catholic, Protestants, Born Again, and one fourth of the Philippines are Muslims.. In the highlands, the climate is so cool.. Not so hot not so cold.. While in the lowlands, it is pretty hot especially during summer.. Just like other countries, the Philippines has lovely beaches like Boracay which is very famous with its very beautiful sceneries.. Palawan has the most number of wild birds and other animals..

i live in baguio city, its called the summer capital of the philippines. this is one of the coldest part of the philippines since we live in the highlands. baguio city belongs to the cordillera administrative region, in here you will also find a lot of good attractions just like the hanging coffins of sagada and the caves which has very good stone formation.

If you're a filipino you really love Philippines because of the people here in our country but if you're a foreigner just visit the Philippines and its tourist spots it is also good to visit here but to stay long it's all up to you because we are a poor country. Most of us are Roman Catholics, our climate is quite hot or as they describe summer all throughout the year only a few months we have rainy seasons. Our food is somewhat like the chinese but our own native food mostly salty or sour. But I would suggest just be a tourist here and your going to love being a tourist here because your money have a bigger rate and you'll see that our goods here are cheaper in prices. Just put these places in your list if you're going to come here. Visit palawan first, then boracay and Cebu if you love beaches.

Discover the Philippine islands. Blessed with an extensive coastline, the Philippines is ringed with unspoiled beaches and first-class resort facilities. Its deep-blue, crystal-clear waters offer about 40,000 square kilometers of coral reefs teeming with a wide variety of marine life. Endowed with a temperate climate, the Philippines offers a perfect treat to enjoy the sunlight. Lying in southeast Asia and surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Philippines boasts of unsullied beaches, spectacular sunsets, luxuriant pastoral lands, cool mountain weather, brilliant man-made resorts and dazzling islands. The Philippines boasts some of the best beaches and scuba diving waters in the world, supported by golf and an increasingly-impressive inter-island tour and transport system. Witness the vast expanse of nature's splendor under the spell of cool mountain breeze. A perfect setting for romance or nature tripping, the country's mountain villages serve as a perfect hideaway from the lowlands' summer heat. If you have yet to see the Philippines, then embark now to what promises to be a trip to paradise! Feel the breeze of summer at white-sand beaches deemed as among the world's finest; be fascinated at the spectacular view of Baguio and Tagaytay; and take a dip in the refreshing waters of modern resort facilities. There are a lot of white sand beaches here like Boracay Island, Siargao Island, Samal Island and Bohol's Springs and Beaches, The Beaches of Palawan, The Beaches of Glan, Sarangani, Subic Bay, Anilao, Puerto Galera and Hundred Islands. If I were to enumerate all the tourist spots here then I could no longer respond to other mylot discussions...haha!
