Do you own a credit card? What is your credit limit on the card?
We used to have one, but the account ended up being closed, and we still owe some money on it. I've thought about getting another one, unfortunatly I don't have the credit for it until some of our older bills are paid off.
But once I think about it, I realize that having a credit card will only get me in trouble. I'm not disciplined enough not to spend it on things I don't really need. And hubby doesn't help, because what I don't think of, he does. He's usually the first to want to blow money on something stupid like fast food, even if we only have $5 in the bank account.
If I ever do get a credit card, I think I'll keep it a secret from him, lol.

I have a number of credit cards, which I use in different situations. One for online stuff for instance, another has a fuel deal attached. All are set up to pay off in full every month direct from my current account. I really just use them as a way of gaining myself a month's interest free credit and to make the most of the deals which come with them.
I'm one of those people who's pretty on top of their money. If you're going to have easy access to credit around, then I think you have to be disciplined about it. I've heard of people who put their cards in a dish of water in the freeer to keep them out of temptation's way. You can defrost them in an emergency, but it gives you thinking time to reconsider whether a take-away is really a good idea on credit!

I've heard of freezing credit cards too. Sometimes I think I'm disciplined enough to use one, but then something comes along and I give in, silly me. It's not as easy as it seems.

I have no credit cards at this time and do not plan on getting any more (at least no time soon). I've had a few in the past but really didn't like the concept too much. I just don't like having to pay all those ridiculous fees especially for smaller purchases that can really rack up in BIG interest over time if you aren't careful. Now-a-days I only use Visa/MasterCard Debit Cards. This helps me to control my spending because I only have access to money that I deposit only. This is a great disciplined way to insure that you live within your means instead of going OVERboard in Debt.

I haven't had a credit card for about 10 years (since I got divorced). I paid them off and haven't had one since. i am so glad of that because of the economy now. What a mess. The only credit I have is a mortgage. I even own my car!

I have one VISA and one MASTERCARD. The VISA has $2000 CL and the MASTERCARD has $2800. I always pay the VISA paid in full and i seldom use it anyway. It's just something I use whenever i buy medicines for my parents. On the other hand, I am a revolver in my Mastercard account. The only problem is the APR, but overall,I am satisfied with the service. Plus, it's always there whenever needed.

I have several cards but I use my MasterCard for almost everything I buy because I get tons of Airmiles for it. I even bought our camera with my Airmiles! I agree that you have to be disciplined though, it's just too easy to sign your name or type the number in and not think about how much you just spent. But now that most cards have online services you can go on and check your balance and see what you've bought anytime you want, which keeps you from getting a nasty surprise at the end of the month. If you do decide to get one just keep the limit low and use it for semi-emergencies only if you're worried about it getting out of hand. Also, don't go crazy applying for a bunch of different cards - each time you apply for credit it negatively effects your credit rating slightly.

I dont have a credit card, and i dont recommend you to get a credit card because the interest are so high and if you are not disciplined maybe you would spend to much money and that will be problems to you. Have a nice day and have good week ;) see you :D

I for one cannot live without my credit cards. I have 6 credit cards and they are all put to good use. Two of them have a $5000 limit, 2 have a $10000 limit and 2 have a $50000 limit. You also have to keep in mind here 4 of them are in my name and the other 2 are joined with my fiance. It is vital for us to have credit cards as I do alot of flying, staying in hotels and making a reservation without a credit card is highly unlikely. As well I have to have credit cards to shop online with as well. However we are both very disciplined in using our cards and don't buy things that we don't need. We always pay them off when we get the bills so credit cards around us is ok.

I did have one years ago but never really used it so didn't bother to re new it when its time was up. Hubby deals with all the paper work so I think he has enough as it is without one more thnig added to it.

We have several credit cards but we usually use only one - the Discover card, and pay immediately on getting the bill. We do have one that my husband may charge something on Ebay or from the Internet for computer parts, but it's just a small amount. I have several from department stores but never use them. I had rather pay by cash or check and not have the bills. I know what I can afford that way and don't have to worry about a big bill turning up in the mail that I had forgotten about.

I used to have one but I ran up a huge bill on it and I found it a struggle to pay it in the end. I think they are a curse. They are so tempting at the time and they can be useful when we need them, but please do not get another one ever. It is so hard to pay them off and it takes forever.
We sold our house and cleared the credit card off, but my husband ran it back up again on stupid things and it is a bill I could really do without now.

I do have a credit card and when I first got it I used it alot and I always ended up spending much more money than I realized. I was usually quite surprised when I saw my bills. Now I have much more control over my spending because if I don't have the money to buy things then I simply don't go places taht cost money. I stay away from the mall and instead spend my time at librarys or parks.
I actually heard that if you have a credit card but just never use it, it will help improve your credit score, but I'm not sure. That's just something that I heard.
