I am officially cooking my very first Christmas dinner. I am a fairly good cook and most people aren't afraid to try what I make. So I know I can pull it off with the help of others. I will be cooking for 10-12 people. I am only used to trying to feed maybe 5 people at the most at one time. I am good with making sure things are cooked and ready at the same time as long as I take a few minutes the day before to prep everything that I can and set a guideline for cooking temps and times. Some things I know I will be making is a turkey, mashed potatoes, squash, carrot salad, reg or ceaser salad, corn, peas, Yorkshire puddings, or biscuits, cookies and goodies for deserts, deviled eggs, potato salad, cheese crackers and the meat. questions I have would be things like this:
1. How many potatoes do I need for mashed potatoes to feed at least 12 people?
2. How big of a turkey do I need in pounds?
3. How do you keep a turkey moist?
4. What else should I make?
5. What are somethings you have made mistakes on that I would most defiantly make myself a first time?
6. What is your favorite thing to make for a big meal like this?
7. Whats the deal with yams and marshmallows? haha
and last but not least
8. Is it greedy to ask people to bring a dish? If we are on a tight budget? Thanks guys!!
