I have just started a new blog and I am curious what you bloggers out there do to promote your blog? I am new to this and don’t even know how to submit my blog to the search engines. PLEASE help a new blogger out with some ideas and suggestions! How can I use my blog to generate income besides google ad sense? Thank you!

I think you don't need to submit the blog to search engine. If your blog is good the search engine would capture it and what you need to do it make your blog good. Content is the king.

there are many blogging communities that promote blog sites if you are a member. there is a myblog or you can post it in your facebook account, friendster, myspace and digg. but first, you have to build up on the contents of your blog. it has to be interesting and informative to invite traffic to your blog. then, send links to your friends, egroups and families about your blog so that they can also help you circulate your blog site. if someone comments, reply to that and thank the person for visiting your blog.
