hi there friend.. for me being a good cashier has to have a good appearance because a cashier is dealing different with people everyday, with a polite attitude so that the costumers will not get intemidated, always smile and say thank you for the customers also smart to answer customer's questions about the pricing and don't talk to co-workers while doing the job, others are doing that..happy mylotting

A cashier should be: 1. Efficient - should know what he's doing and doesn't need a lot of explanations for a single task. He should know what he's selling and with proper pricing as well. 2. Customer oriented - should work in a fast pace so that other customers wouldn't be waiting in line for too long. He should be courteous too and should be ready to assist the customer in whatever he/she needs. I think the two should be the primary qualities of a good cashier. It's good that you have come across a very good cashier, it's just sad though that people working as cashiers don't earn that much but their got a lot of things to do. Plus, there are quite a few cashiers who are efficient, most are just there for the job, they don't even care if they're allowing people to wait in lines too long. The worst thing I've seen with cashiers are those who talk to each other even if there are clients waiting in line. Whew!

I'm cashier and I don't think its a great job, Yeah that's right you have to be Efficient and Costumer oriented, but sometimes I'm tired being like this. Costumers not always right, and I hate those costumers who don't know what's their rights and wrongs.
