Email cc Boss All the Time.

Our team has a new teammates and we discovered that almost all her emails would put the boss on cc (no matter it’s big deal or small deal). I find it quite amusing as she has more than 10 years of working experience and she should really use her brain on the “cc” part. Her mentality is not hard to understand, just that she wants to make sure the boss knows everything about her work. However, I must say that she might gain the trust from boss, but she is losing her teammates. I do put my boss on “cc” too but most of the time, it’s something that she needs to know. So do you have that kind of colleagues?

Well, I don't have this kind of colleagues. I have some juniors whom I always remind them to cc to my boss and seniors when necessary. This is good, as the boss will know the progress of the project and also the boss will know what this colleague is doing.

I don't work, so I haven't had that kind of a situation. But my husband has this problem with one of his office mates that puts her boss on cc for everything under the sun. At first he was quite agitated about it, but now he has come to understand that everybody cannot be the same and just because she sends across some ideas in her email doesn't mean that the boss has to endorse it all the time. I guess he is quite ok with it now.

Ya I find that annoying as well. I have people that ask me to do something and cc my boss. I feel as is they are just trying to make sure I do it. I think eventually the boss might get tired of all the ccs and tell the person not to.
