In times of the economic downturn and bad news are on TV everyday, everyone around me seems so worried about their money, job security, future and all that. Some people are even having negative thoughts and comments towards everything. So, have you lost your positive attitude in the past few months? Or how do you stay positive in the bad times?

Hello wondericequeen, I know that the economy is turning from bad to worst but I don't feel that a lot of people aware of that. I still see many people shopping especially during sales or buying unnecessary stuff. I am worried about the situation but I do hope nothing bad would happen to me or my family. I don't really think negatively all the times and the best thing to do right now, is to do your work at your best - that's what I think.

I think nowadays there are many negative news from TV. And this is why we become to worry about so many things, such as the money, job etc. I think it somewhat has an effect on my budget. I tend to spend less money in these days. I love China

You keep saying that! I guess you had not been born yet when I was going through bad times. It is only relatively recently that I have started enjoying good times, so I hope they continue for me, and I hope things improve for you, too.

I've been quite down lately because it's already been 2 months since I last worked on a project. Everything seems to be going downhill and I lost quite a lot in the stock market - enough to last me for 6 months. Things are not showing well. But I just need to work harder on other things. Worrying is useless...it will not bring me any help. I'm also saving up a lot on so many things. I no longer dare to buy the things I want even though my salary is actually quite high for my age. Guess it'll be a very tough year ahead. And it doesn't help when my other friends who have projects to do (means they're secure) came to me and complained how bad their jobs are. :) They're demotivating someone who is already trying very hard to motivate himself.

Living in a state where the unemployment rate is 9.5 as of yesterday and apparently rising it's difficult to not be stressed as I'm one of the unemployed. Actually I do get contract jobs here and there but the last job I did it has taken over a month to get paid am still waiting. So it's hard to remain upbeat when you have .15 cents to your name. It makes it hard to focus when all you do is wait for the mailbox. I hope people can keep it together and remain somewhat optimistic so we can get through the financial troubles, I think we can. I do agree that there is a lot more negativity around and people are affected by fear and negative "vibes" if you will.

this society is turning out much stressful and growing intensively day by day... fear of losing jobs, and of course money matters make people very pessimistic.
