Nowadays there are two types of RAM SDRam and DDRram.I'm using sdram in my computer. It has a speed of 256 Mb.There are ddr rams. They are dual dat rate rams. They work at double speed than sd rams.

hello vicky, thanks for enlightening me on how this two memory cards differ. It really frowned me upon reading SDRAM and DDRam. I am not familiar of those stuff.

if you windows is 32 bit your planning is avail nothing 32bit windows xp, vista or other windows don't using more when 3x 1024 gB. if you 64 bit windows that ok, 64bit using all RAM as your motherboard is let.

Hello sindhu, I am using Windows XP with 2 GB DDR Ram. Well, I can't be so sure as to how this two differs in terms of performance, as I have not the other one. But one thingI am sure of, is mine works fine and I still have lots of free space.

You're confused SRAM is used for cache or CMOS, What you're talking about is DRAM, maybe you're confusing SRAM with SDRAM (SDR SDRAM) which is DRAM. after SDR came DDR SDRAM, DDR2 and now DDR3, all of them are DRAM. I use 512 i won't upgrade to 1 GB and buy a new computer directly, for XP or Linux with Compiz 1GB is fine unless you use photoshop professionally, do a lot of video editing, use virtual machines, or something else memory intensive. For Vista with Glass at least 2GB.

I have 1GB of RAM and I'm thinking of upgrading to 3 GB by adding another 2GB stick.
