Did Gandhiji REALLY provide us FREEDOM ?

Lets look into the historical perspective of the times when we fought for our freedom.. the time of the 2nd world war.. the time when almost all the countries were facing "INSECURITY" in almost all the aspects of their STABILIZATION. The BRITISHERS were at the verge of loosing their hold over their own finances and civil peace.. BRITISHERS then had their rule over most of the other nations.. they really were NOT able to control their own civil dispersion and perhaps they had no option than to give away their hold over other nations and INDIRECTLY "give them freedom".. Why do i even have that opinion in my mind about this GREAT MAN whose movements of SATYAGRAHA (the fight for truth) gave WE INDIANS a vision and a reason to live with "PEACE & HARMONY" ???

I am too under doubt about the situation, i heard a rumor about a britech official coming to india & claiming that they did not free us because of Gandhiji but they gave us freedom becoz of following things 1.Baghatsingh Though this was old i.e about 16 yrs old but he had inspired armed revolution 2.British economy was on verge of collapse 3.British did not have enough power to control India as they did b4 WW2

I don't think the other factors diminish the influence and contribution that Ghandi had in India and the world. I'm sure the pressure of negative publicity around the world due to the attention Ghandi was receiving had some bearing on the British as well as the other factors. Furthermore, Ghandi influenced one of the most respected and influential civil activist in American History and that was Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. He modeled his civil rights movement after the teachings and practices of Ghandi.
