Hi friends, Best nominated poem by U.N 2006 written by an african boy.. When I born, I black. When I grow up, I black. When I go in sun, I black. When I cold, I black. When I scared, I black. When I sick, I black. And when I die, I still black. You white folks... When you born, you pink. When you grow up, you white. When you go in sun, you red. When you cold, you blue. When you scared, you yellow. When you sick, you green. When you bruised, you purple. And when you die, you gray. So who YOU callin' C O L O R E D ?? Cheers, Tutul

I love this poem...ah through the eyes of a child the world is some simple. Rasism is ongoing and I do not just mean in the third world, it exists in our own back yards. I think the only true solution to rasism is try and create a bridge between the different cultures (not just black and white). We should talk to our children and try to teach them that our differences are what make us beuatiful. If everyone in the world looked the same, life would be pretty boring. Do you know the name of the child that wrote this? I would like to share the poem with my daughter. Good Poem, nice topic.... Happy Mylotting!

An absolute genius. The poem so much reflects the mindset of disturbed African boy. A little frustration, a little pain, and a lot of heart. I salute this African boy genius. Say no to racism.

Hi! Ya I had read this poem. I had received it via sms. I just love this poem and love the feelings of the child. How beautifully he has expressed his hatred against being called "colored"... Truly RACISM should be curbed as I feel it is a very dreaded disease. Thanks for such a post. Keep posting. Happy mylotting!
