What do you think about this quote: "A rich person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least" What does it mean to you? By this standard, are you rich?

What a wonderful response! I , of course expected nothing less from you, my friend! You are truly an inspiring example of how God's love can be reflected in a person's life! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in the US and I will be thanking God for the Christian Family around the world that I am a part of. Thanks for consistently brightening my day!

Ah rocket - I answered this already and posted but as I posted the power fluctuated and I can see that my response is somehwere in computer heaven! I thought that my posting was good but cannot remember it all. However I will try again. I am so rich because I know where I am going after I have departed this earth. I am rich because I have received so much love in my lifetime that I am able to pass on this love to as many people as I can. I am rich becasue despite my many sine my Saviour still forgives me if I repent with sincerity. I am rich because of the verse in Hebrews that stateds that when we repent our loving GOd CHOOSES to forget our sins. I can never get over this. I think of it daily. What a wonderful God - a God that actually choosed to forget all our past sins and by His wonderful grace we are sinless - until we si again. I am rich because I am given the ability to try and live as Jesus did and try to obey His cpommands. I do my best to feed His people, clothe His people and love His people. I am rich because I am contented to have what I have in these poor economic times. I still have work and can afford to drive my car and put food on the table. I can still pay my medical insurance. I am rich because I live in harmony with my children and neighbours. god Bless and have a wondeful day

First let me say that I'm not rich. I like that quote, it makes a lot of sense to me. You can be a poor person as far as material things, but still be rich in the spirit, or rich in the word. When you're humble, you're a person that seems to make it well without having many material things, and you don't complain because you know you have all you need already, This may not be what the quote actually means but that's what I'm pulling from it.

I'm not materially rich but I'm spiritually rich. God always takes care of me.

It means that you have so much love and so many friends and the things that really count. It means tthat you are not all about money and materialism....and you have lots of chocolate, stored in a huge warehouse.....lol

By that standard I am filthy rich.. I don't need much, I have a roof over my head, a loving husband of 40 years, a family, food to eat, and I have been saved by Jesus Christ, do I need more, I don't think so..

Hi ya rocketj1 I didn't reply to you straight away on this because I needed to think about it but today I am still non the wiser so I shall just say things the way it is with me. I think that rich people still seem to be needy but more on the emotional side of things. I hear that rich people are often unhappy people. I do feel rich, but rich with life. I have 3 great kids who love me unconditionally, we are happy, we are healthy, I have food to put on the table, I have a roof to put over our heads and clothes to put on our backs. In comparising to what alot of people have in other countries I am most certainly rich!!

I think that you are right about rich people. They often are not happy with what they have and are always looking for more. Truly rich people like yourself are able to be content with what they have and see the blessings for what they are! I know that you are in the UK but I'm going to wish you a happy thanksgiving for tomorrow anyway!

Reminds me of the two famous Simpsons quotes by Abe Simpson, namely: "I'm old Gimme, gimme, gimme" and regarding Social Security "I don't need it but tarnation, if they miss one payment I'm going to raise cane!" The one who has the most needs the least, therefore ergo, the one who has the least needs the most. Of these two, who is happy? What profit a man who gains the world and looses his soul?

I am very rich, I have very few needs, most of what I need is for my animals. I live simply and have everything necessary for this.

I feel like I am rich. I don't have a lot of money by any means but I don't really "need" a lot of things. I have my husband and kids, a house and a car. I feel blessed.
