I just lost my dog tonight, he was tied up in the backyard a broke loose, he's been missing for 2 hours and i looked up and down the street calling for him and still no luck, he's gotten out before but he always stays in the front yard. the bad thing is he doesn't have tags, we just moved and i haven't had a chance to change the address plus we lost them in the move. anyway back to my question if you found a dog or even a cat would you return it, or in my case if it didn't have tags would you post "found" animal posters?

I have found dogs and cats and posted flyers around the neighborhood. Within a day or two someone would come for the animal. I rescue cats and alot of the cats that showed up in my yard were dropped off because I lived there for 29 years and everyone knew I rescued cats. I took them in and posted flyers but if there wasn't any response I would get them spayed or nutered and try to find them a home. If I couldn't they would become part of the pride. Fortunately the dogs of mine that got out have always come home except one that was run over by a school bus. The dog I have now is a rescue and she has a bad habit of going walk about now and then. Fortuntely she comes back. When I had my home she would be gone for about 2 hours. Now she is only gone for about a half hour. I hope your dog comes back. I would check the local shelter if you don't find her in a day or two. Withut tags she will seem abandoned. I would go out a few more times and call for her for sure. If it is getting cold where you are she will be glad to get back inside. Good Luck!!!!

Well as I have young children it would depend on the size of the dog, tempterment of the dog etc. so if it was a good dog etc I would keep it over night and then to take it to the RSPCA centre. Otherwise I would just callthe RSPCA centre so they could come and collect the dog. I would also put posters up around my area so if anyone was looking for the dog they would know where to look.

It will matter in the size of the dog if the dog is big I dont think so if I'll attempt touch that dog it might bite me. If It's cute like and friendly dog I'll return it to the owner or call 911 and report that I've found a puppy. lol
