Painting has been my hobby for a very long time. But recently my friends have suggested me to try selling my paintings online.Although I have given it some thought I don't know how to go about doing it. Can anyone here please help me out. Please tell me about some good websites. And what usually are there payment terms etc.? I would not want to pay anything for uploading the images in a website since I am just starting out. Is there any other way to go about. Please help

I am not sure but you may try auctioning your paints on ebay. It is genuine site and lots of sales and purchases are taking place over this site. There is another site using similar peer to peer sales and purchases is 'www.alibaba.com'. It is Hong Kong stock exchange public listed company providing platform for online sales and purchases.

Thanks a lot for the response and your valuable piece of information. I have heard about ebay. Will check both the sites.

Try Etsy. It is a site where you can open your own storefront to sell your crafts. As for payment terms or fees, I know a lot of people say it is better than EBay, but you'll have to check out the site for the specifics.

you can set up an account in www.deviantart.com. it's an art online community where anyone can showcase their artworks, whether you're an amateur or professional artist. you can also sell your works there and earn money. :)

Some places have free websites and you could create your own. Only thing is they dont tend to draw the crowds as better known sites for selling, but you could have other work available and use your link at the bottom of emails you send out , or make business cards with your site listed ,especially if you do any craft or art shows.

Here is one that I use http://www.impressionshop.com Uploading images is free and there are handy tools to configure how your image looks on the products (posters, prints, t-shirts, canvases, etc..) When one of your products sell, they credit your account then pay you via PayPal every month. It's pretty easy.
