I wonder if someone could live without one of these meals for a period of three months if you have to do it. Would you start your day without Breakfast or end your day without Dinner?

Sure, someone can live without having breakfast OR dinner. You wouldn't be starving because you had something to eat even though you did not eat both meals. When I was working, I never ate breakfast, actually I did not have lunch most days either. I would eat something at night when I got home. I guess if you had a medical problem and had to eat it would create a problem, but missing a meal will not kill you.

Hi sudalunts, a good response. The discussion is just about which you could give up "easily". Sure behind this question is more hidden. Why can you forgo breakfast easier than dinner or dinner easier than breakfast. My question would be now did you take any drinks or sweeties during your working time, usually my stomach would begin to make loud noises after a few hours without eating (around lunch time). So i couldn't wait until night for eating only dinner. Have good discussions, plenty of responses, much earnings and a nice day :-)

Dear friend, I had experienced this when I had heavy work and I would just want to lie on bed. When I have to leave home skipping breakfast and come home late tried I avoid dinner too. I just need bed to sleep. But in between I may have snacks or light food.

Hello Shamrack, it's cool that you can go without breakfast and skip dinner too. But it seems you would cheat when you eat some snacks during the day . Which kind of snack or light food do you eat? Enjoy your time in myLot!

Hello cndn420, i guess you'll be very hungry if you would skip the dinner in the evening, too . I hope this never happens to you. How many cups of coffee do you drink usually in the morning? Looks like you like to have a fast dinner in the evening each time eggs and some meat in the pan and finish Enjoy the time in myLot!

I can live without breakfast only on weekends, and I never live without lunch and dinner. I heat that people who often miss breakfast gets old more quicky, so I have breakfast everyday during working day. And I sleep till midday on weekends, so I can live without breakfast only on weekends.

Hello iamfine, this could be too, that people will get older if they don't take regularly breakfast because the brain has to work with less energy or it has to ake the energy from somewhere else from the body. This could make the body weak time after time. Is this a correct conclusion? ;-) Have a nice weekend and a good lunch after a long sleepy night :-)

hi friend, we live without taking food but it causes the damage of vital organs in our body.sometimes without taking one meal or one breakfast we feel nothing but it was repeated so many times it cause some health problems. similarly over eating also harmful to our health. don't play games with health.maximum take food properly to avoid the ensuing health problems. take care about your health.

Hello nirmalarani, this was just a question if you are in this situation that you have to skip one of the meals - breakfast or dinner- be it because of war or because you don't have enough money to buy one of these meals per day. Sure in normal life i take care that i have my regular meals every day to support my body with enough minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and water. Have a great time in myLot and good luck for 2009!

I could go without breakfast for three months easy. I probably have done it already. I rarely eat breakfast, I just don't find myself hungry in the morning, so I rarely eat my first meal before noon each day. The real question is, do I have to not eat at breakfast time, or can I not eat breakfast foods? There are a few afternoons that I crave breakfast food, so that is what I fix myself. But its afternoon, so its no longer breakfast time.

I haven't practiced a thing! Really this is just all by accident lol! I get up, fix the kids breakfast, clean up a little, and tend to a few things online, I somewhat think about getting something to eat, but by then its 12:30 at the earliest!

Forgot to say. If I were to try and fast consciously, for a purpose, that would be when I would die of hunger lol.

Hello drknlvly6781, that's good when you practiced the fasting in the morning time already. The 1-million-question is always what if i eat during afternoon or before lunch time is this cheating on it ;-) I would say, yes it's cheating because your stomach seems to have a need of a 3rd meal during the day, am i right? Have a good time here and everywhere!

People in a diet can live without dinner for many months even after years especially those in the diet called "after 6". As for me, I really don't have to go on diet since I am happy with my shape however, if I have to choose what to give up, I can give up dinner but not breakfast. I need the energy the food will give me in the morning to keep me going all day.

Hello anneshirley, there are different opinions if it's really the fact that when you eat late you will gain more weight or not. I don't believe in this because for me it was never useful. I can eat whenever i want, i gain only slightly to each time. For the breakfast i share your opinion. Without having something to eat in the morning, the engine of my body can't begin working! Have a nice time in myLot!

Hi cornyman, I have gone without breakfast for number of years and I don't have luch either, I just have my evening meals, but that is no good for you, people mucst have breafast which is the most important meal of the day so they can function till lunch and then have dinner which is good for your body. Hello tamarafireheart, you're right without my breakfast i wouldn't have the energy to do my jobs or doing discussions here in myLot. The brain uses usually 20 to 25% of the body's energy, so this is essential for me. In the night i could forgo one meal if i have eaten little bit more in the afternoon ;-) Have a nice start in the coming week!

Hi cornyman~I read your response to the first responder. Is that all you have to say? You obviously know that it is possible to forgo breakfast. Many of us do. I don't eat breakfast or lunch and don't eat until sometimes 10:00 at night. And I don't starve. I'm just not always hungry until then. You'd be surprised what your body can do. You wouldn't die if you didn't eat for a day or more. So what is your real point?

Hello Opal26, seems something is not clear at the moment. Ok, everyone is different and like i wrote to the 1.responder, i would be definitely hungry if i don't take breakfast in the morning. I had to skip probably dinner and make a bigger lunch or postpone the lunch for being not that hungry during the night. This is all about habits and the definition of breakfast, lunch and dinners and if you take snacks during the day it should be also called like one of the three meals depending on the time you eat a sandwich, chocolate, coffee and so on. For further explanations just respond to me and we will have a good discussion with the other fellow mylotter!

I could take no breakfast or dinner but I usually skip lunch. No matter what meal it was as if I feel I don't like to eat. But my usual activity is I always eat breakfast with heavy foods like rice and others and if lunch came I do not eat. Upon dinner I eat of course. I hate to sleep hungry I could not sleep well for my stomach asking for foods.

Hello mods, my breakfast is usually cornflakes and yogurt with some fruit of the season or just some bread slices with jam or cheese and tea. I have to eat lunch otherwise i'm only a half person, my brain would get in trouble and my stomach would make loud noise during lunchtime. That's why i could skip dinner when i eat little bit more for lunch ;-) Have a nice day and keep on posting!

If I have to choose, I dispense with breakfast. I usually get up very early and my stomach continue sleeping for a while, hahaha. But dinner is indispensable. I can´t fall asleep if I´m hungry. And I should say that I do no often have breakfast, but I eat different snacks during the morning. Is it cheating or something? Hahahaha!

Hello mano5chi, let's be honest, we could say this is cheating but who knows, i would eat usually also more in the afternoon if i have to give up dinner. I think if this would be no rule of the "game" everybody would try to eat more before sleeping so that he is not hungry in the morning, or eat more for lunch/in the afternoon for not being hungry at night :-) Otherwise i would say it's cheating ;-) for luck this is only theoretical question Have a nice time in myLot and keep on posting!

Hello maygodblessu44, i strongly agree with your comment. It is absolutely necessary to eat and drink in the morning something, so that the body has enough energy and power for a good start in the day. In this hectic times it's only sometimes difficult to take the meals like you could see from the other responses. I wouldn't give up breakfast, only dinner would be possible to give up for some weeks. Have a good time, may god bless you!

Hello scarlet_woman, what do you eat then during the day until you have dinner? Some Fruits, bread, buns? Or do you buy some small snacks like chocolate, cookies, candies? Or is it the coffee and some other fruit drinks that doesn't let you get hungry during the day? Have a good day!

yes, this is true! That is why eating a heavy dinner isn't a good idea especially for weight watchers because our body's metabolism slows down when we get ready for bed.

exactly, i noticed that whenever i over ate dinner i would surely ballooned faster than over eating breakfast. which reminds me that since its holiday and that would mean food again and lots of food and eating i better cut off my dinners so that i won't grow and extra lbs. hehehhehe have a great day!!

I often end the day without dinner. I usually only have time to eat maybe 2 meals a day, sometimes just 1. I do drink alot of water and take lots of vitamins and I function just fine. I don't like to do that though because then when it comes time to sit down and eat a meal you eat more then you would if you would eat your 3-5 small meals a day. Shihtzumama

Crazy schedules sometimes don't allow for 3 meals.....I have been doing better with eating a protien bar or shake though if I am leaving early and don't have time to eat my frosted mini wheats!!!(my favorite) I do eat smaller meals though and I am trying to get at least 3 meals but am working it up to 5 SMALL meals !!! I have lost some weight since the new year so that is great motivation too!! I have found that if you eat small healthy meals that I don't over eat when I sit down to a lunch or dinner. I also found that drinking alot of water helps cut back on the amount of food you consume, as you don't feel sooooo hungry!!!

Hello shihtzumama, you're right, it's better to eat regularly otherwise you gain more weight because the less frequent you take the meals the more hungry you can get and then the mind tells us to eat much more than usually. Why do you have only time for 1 or 2 meals a day, a special activity in the evening or in the morning? Have a great time in myLot, enjoy it!

How much do you eat for your only meal in the evening time? Have a great time in myLot and a Happy New Year!
