Are there systems in place to ensure that no libelous material gets shown on mylot ?How do they do that, do they tell you modify the discussion or just delete it .Can mylot be held responsible for what people write on the website considering that it is not a newspaper .Is is bound by the same rules or is it viewed as a blog or discussion forum ? Do you have any law training and even if you dont and can ease clarify these isuues ,feel free.

Can we sue other users? I am SO sick of losing MY hard earned post count because some OTHER bozo has NO life and gets their jollies off of going into good discussions and intentionally breaking the rules just to get the discussion deleted and making those of us who DO obey the rules lose our hard earned post counts and earnings! GEESH!

I am not so sure if we can and the only thing to avoid this kind of problem is to immediately report those violators when you see it at the very first instance before admin and moderators get to them first. this might be a difficult task but if everyone is vigilant and doing this then we could make the site as clean as possible.

no,apparently with sites such as mylot the website creators/owners are not responsible for the content of the site. They are there to moderate, simply because they do not want any terrible things posted on their site. If I were to say .... was a murderer or cross dreser or something like that and they took offense then they would have to take it up with me not mylot.

Why would anyone want to sue mylot. I dont think that mylot has done anything wrong unless if they start a downloading forum where you can download movies and music then I can see someone trying to sue them. But other then that this is a perfectly good forum so I dont think you have to worry about this forum being sued lol.

I think there is a disclaimer somewhere or it is in the terms of myLot that they are not responsible for anything or could not be held liable for the members actions, in that sort. Not so sure about it but that's the way in some forums and that members are not employees of Mylot, so they won't be held accountable and liable for whatever actions the members have. The same sort are in place in every terms of use that they are not responsible for the accuracy or the inaccurate content posted in the site.
