I have often wondered why everyone believes that no matter what everyone will go to heaven as long as they as for forgiveness. My questions to all of you is explain to me how and why if asking for forgiveness that Jeffrey Dahmer or Charles Manson would be let into heaven? My personal opinion is that certain people whom have committed these types of crimes deserve to die and go to hell no matter what!! What are your thoughts?

I know this is not really answering your question but I have often thought to myself that if you have to be good and religious all of the time to get into Heaven, then it must be a pretty lonely place.

Hey any opinion is an answer to my question. And I enjoy getting responses to my discussions whether they are an answer or another opinion or thought that is relavent to mine.

God loves his children unconditionally. Wherein we as his children do not express the same love. Humans commit crimes and do things that are sinful, and yet god forgives them the sins. He teaches us lessons, as he made cain to be a wanderer, and yet still gave Cain his protection from being slain, even though Cain slain his own brother. God loves us all, no matter what..

The bad person has to repent of his sins and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and SAvior and believe in the Triune God. He gets a new heart, and becomes a new person, so there is a chance that a psycopathic killer may get to heaven if his heart is changed and he gives up his murderous intentions, but he still has to pay for the crimes he did on earth. So rather than pray for Jeffry Dahmer or Charles Manson get into heaven, it would be best to pray that God will convince them of their sins and cause them to repent. They will die or be executed, if not done already. I also cannot understand why someone like me who was a bad girl and fornicated had to be punished by getting vd and becoming infertile, while murderers get off with just a wish to get into heaven.

In the first place, we are ALL sinners, and therefore, need the forgiveness and mercy of God. The bible says that no matter what sin you do, if you break one point of the Law, You are GUILT OF ALL- James 2:10-11. And just because one asks for forgiveness, doesn't necessarily mean that they will ultimately be forgiven. God KNOWS whether one is sincere- OR NOT. The bible says that God KNOWS our hearts. It goes on to imply that our own conscience will be used as evidence against ourselves on Judgment Day, when He comes and Judges ALL of our secret thoughts. Please See: Romans 2:12-16. So know one knows better than ourselves, if we are, or were sincere about forgiveness- and God will KNOW this! What I'd like to know though, due to all this talk about going to heaven, WHERE does it say in the Bible, that ANYONE will be going to heaven? Does anyone have a specific verse or passage, that requires no private interpretation or ones own personal assumption, that CLEARLY states this? And PLEASE no parables... Regards...

well i was taught that you not only have to ask for forgiveness, but you have to truly feel it too. not feel bad about taking away your chance to get into heaven, but feel bad about the act in itself. therefore, outside of the realm of sacrifice, bad people probably dont go to heaven. and also, what does that mean for hell???

Thanks for the response, I think that some of the things done can't be forgiven and they deserve to go to hell no matter what. That is what I was saying about hell.

In order to get forgiveness you have to be truly sorry that you have sinned and of your specific sins. A "bad" person would not have this feeling, thus not being truly forgiven. But, we all make mistakes and we all must be forgiven. We are almost all sorry or regret what we have done after we have sinned.

My Dear Friend I think if one acted badly in life hell is the right place for him/her. Asking for forgiveness does not make one a good person . And I think criminals should not /are not apologized by Just asking for forgiveness. I believe that ,to go to heaven one needs to act good . Thanks For raising such a good discussion.....! Happy Mylotting ! Take Care ! Ganesh !

With God everything is either black or white. There are no gray ares. If you will get you a copy of the King James Bible and read the last few verses of the book of Mark in the New Testament it will tell you who will be saved and who won't be. Jesus is explainiong to the 11 Apostles how to identfy true believers. Just being a "Believer" and asking forgiveness isn't enough. You must be a true believer and that requires some very special help from God.

this is because God forgives. you can be the worst of sinners but as long as you believe that Jesus is Lord and confess your sins, you WILL be forgiven. the question then lies with when these people ask for forgiveness, are they genuine? If they truly don't believe in God, how can they be forgiven?
