When it hurts, it dies

Human nature is still a great puzzle to me. I love observing peoples reactions, emotions, ... Why is it so hard for men to deal with emotional pain? They just shut down and that's it. Im saying 'men' because I've noticed that men do that more often then women. Women cry, talk about it, try getting it out and deal with it, while men hide inside, shut their feelings and act macho. I wish they wouldnt. Its so hurtful, when the man you love shuts down, hides emotions and deal with them alone. Do other women mind that too?

I understand what you are saying... especially when a situation is hurtful to both sides... it helps to know how the other is feeling... what they are thinking... doesn't make a person feel as if they are insane or overly emotional or something. I sometimes clam up because sometimes hurt can be numbing. The shutting down or hiding of emotions is a coping mechanism. I do that sometimes not because i want to seem cold or uncaring... sometimes talking or thinking out-load about something in particular just would hurt so much more i guess. Depends on the situation.
