the next time you take your medication think again before you drink juice to wash it down.a new study reports that grapefruit, orange and apple juices blocks some drugs used to treat infection, allergies, tranplant rejection, cancer, and high blood pressure.the study showed healthy volunteers took allergy drug allergra, with either a glass of grapefruit juice,a glass of water mixed with a chemical found in the juice,or pure water.taking the drug with juice or the mixed halved the amount of drug that reached the bloodstream.so the best way to take your pill plain water.

HI ANNJILENA, MY DEAR FRIEND, i love juices and i strat my day with a glass full of juice or a nice milk shake. but i will never take a pill with my juice. its not correct. medicines are always taken with water. and i think one should always take them with water. i fully agree with you and what you have explained in your discussion. one should be very careful in this .

Oh is that so? I'm glad I am not taking synthetic medication so I have no problem with that. I am more on alternative medicine which is of course all natural and no problem with any blocks that could be caused by other natural food as well. But I am glad you started this topic because at least I could alert friends and relatives who are into synthetic medication. Thanks dear!

tea also would have affect on your medication because of the caffine in it.most sodas have caffine in them so yes it can and do affect your mediacation.thank you for sharing

Wow, I never knew that. I thought that the whole purpose of drinking water with pills was to make it go down, I didnt know that the actual fluid mattered. I was at a bachelorette party a few days ago and I had a MAJOR headache, so I took two extra strength Exederin pills. I just downed them with some punch, and my head ached took at least 2 hours to go away. At first I was wondering why it took so long, I mean they were extra strength and all. After this post I realized that I guess it was because I drunk Punch when I took them instead of plain water. Thanks for the tip! Will definitely take it into consideration next time I pop a pill!!

yes even though they was extra strenght you diluted it with the punch so it was weaken when you took it thats why it took so long to work if it worked at all.extrs strenght should have knocked that headache out the park but the effect was slowed down.thank you for sharing

really? I usually take my pills without anything to drink if they are small enough. I guess I never really thought that what I was drinking with them could effect them. Is this information printed on the medication information sheets that they give you at the pharmacy? it should be... Thanks for sharing
