Twice Removed From Oscar Wilde?

Ok, I got that from a Don McLean song, "Everybody Loves Me,Baby." But I do have a question. When speaking of cousins, etc., I have always referred to them as 1st, 2nd, 3rd cousins, etc. Aunts are Aunts, Great-Aunts, Great-Great Aunts, etc. The "removed" thing is giving me a headache right now. Do you know how it works? Can you explain it in very simple terms to me? lol My Mother's Mother's Aunt is my Great-Great Aunt. If you were using "removed" what would she be? My Dad's Cousin's Son is my 3rd Cousin. How about this one? I just cannot get it into my head. Help! lol I decided to post in People because I noticed that the Genealogy section is rarely posted in! Just in case you wondered! :P
