The original Starbucks was opened in Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington, in 1971 by three partners: English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegel, and writer Gordon Bowker. In the beginning, they sold high-quality coffee beans and coffee brewing equipment. Now there are many more options for the caffeine addict. What is your favorite?

They usually have at least one swell special flavor during the holidays - this year it's Espresso Truffle....which is basically a mocha but instead of the mocha syrup it's got a truffle powdery mixture. It's pretty good and I've been consuming a lot of them lately. Usually, though I order a cinnamon dolce latte, hot in the winter, blended/frozen in the summer.

When I visit Starbucks, I like to get a venti white chocolate macchiato with a shot of caramel and an extra shot of espresso. The last time I was there I was thinking about getting the "Energy" shot - it adds guarana (yeah, boy, pump UP that caffeine!), B vitamins and I think ginseng. I was afraid it might affect the taste though.
