A boy who is so attached to and needs this pony for therapy should not lose it! This is not a pet but a necessity for this boy! I was so outraged when I heard this!!!! What are your thoughts on this? ~Heavens~

Hi heavens, I hope you're having a good day. I'm not even sure if your son's at school. I 'thought' he still went every second Friday (I know he went last Friday), but then you mentioned to me that he has school today. Anyway, I'm sorry about this 'link' here. There's no way to get into it from the discussion (that I can see.) I tried a few ways, and it just won't work. Where did you come across this story? Again, sorry.

Hi Mom! My Boy is at school today and yews he went last Friday as well...All because of the PA Day, they have his class going two weeks in a row! I think there is a time later in the school year where the other class has two Fridays in a row...That is why I am so thankful for the calendar!!! I am not sure why this link messed up! It is to a video actually through Rogers Yahoo...Anyhow, here is an article link...same story! This one should work, let me know if it does because I may just start a new discussion on this with the new link! http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=0df042e6-4501-4067-bd6b-d5666e764761 Thanks also for dropping by here today! Thanks for the explanation regarding your son. It makes sense to me now. The link to the story does work, so it would be good to use in a new discussion. I read the article, and it's both heartbreaking and ridiculous. How could 'anyone' expect this family to give up the pony. The property borders on a cattle farm too, so how can these people be sure where the smell is coming from. Another thing, for those who live in rural areas, shouldn't they expect these 'odours' to be present? Take care.

To begin with when I first read the article I thought a miniature pony, now thats about the size of a big dog so why would it be a problem. But when looking at the picture I see it is a good sized pony. I have been around horses a lot and 1 acre of land for a pony that size isn't very big. Since the Spiteris' one-acre property is zoned as rural residential There shouldn't be a problem unless there are zoning laws in place about what animals can be in the area. It is really sad that the neighbors are complaining about the smell. I have smelled things a lot worse than horse manure. It is really sad that they insist on Sam having to give up his pony when it can help him.

I agree it is sad that the neighbors are having such a problem with this when it is so necessary for the child and his therapy etc. I wonder what they would think if it was a pig....Now that is dung I don't miss smelling since I left the farm! Thanks so much fro responding here dee! ~Heavens~
