No, not the Frankie Howard series about the ancient city. lol! I'm talking about football and the European Championships. Pompey, (Portsmouth) were sooooo close to taking AC Milan to the cleaners last night, they had me on the edge of my seat! They were 2-0 up until six minutes from the end, when a couple of bad free kick decisions by the ref allowed Milan to come back, and score two goals.
What a disappointment after Pompey had given it their all. They took the game to Milan, and ran rings round them for at least most of the second half. I think they can walk with their heads held high, after taking one of the top teams in Europe to the wire! They fooled Chelsea the same way in the F.A. Cup last year, and I, for one, am proud of them! Who would have thought they would have come this far?Of course, Peter Crouch is a newly injected asset, but I think there's a lot to be said for English Managers. Harry Rednap did a great job there, and he's doing it again at Spurs. What think you?

Ah, well I was my Grandfather's oldest grandchild, so I was the one who got carted off to matches, London, etc. etc. lol. He started the ball rolling, then my Dad played, my first husband played, my brother played, my boys played and I had to learn about the game and go and support. So I am a born football supporter. I fully understand and love the game!
Thank you for your contribution and Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Yeah Portsmouth were unlucky last night and deserved the victory against Milan. They battled really hard for most of the 90 minutes until they were hit with two late sucker punches from Ronaldinho and Inzaghi.
Oh and by the way this really should of been posted under Soccer surely not life.

Yes, they played an exciting game and really deserved more. I'm sorry about posting it under life... I know it should be under soccer but I'd hit the button before I realised and there was no going back! lol. I guess I got carried away with it!
Did you think they should have been free kicks? Ok, Ronaldinho's was an excellent strike, but I'm not sure he should have had the opportunity. Also, what do you think about English managers? I think they have that little something extra that the rest of Europe is unaware of... bringing the wingers into play a lot for one!
Brightest Blessings and thank you for your contribution.

Hi Darkwing.
I used to watch football years ago, I have lost touch with it now and I don't know whos who any more, I used to support Newcastle United, only because I liked Alan Shearer and now he has retired, but I sometimes do watch the football but I missed that game with Pompey.
Bright Blessings.

They have Alan Shearer in the studio nowadays. He's quite a clever man when it comes to football.
I support Leeds United really but I needed to relax after shopping and the game was on the TV, so I watched, and was pleasantly surprised by Portsmouth's performance.
Brightest Blessings my friend, and thank you for your contribution.

Hey I don't know it exactly at the moment, but I think there is (are..?) hungarian player(s) in Portsmouth.. Am I right? Maybe I am mistaken, and this would be a big mistake, because I like football very much. (Well, my enthusiasm was greater about 20 years ago, I admit..) By the way, I support Kispest (old name is Honved). It was the club of Puskas in the '50-s. Have you heard of that? Aaand..: I think yesterday was the 55th anniversary of the "match of the century", as it is called here in Hungary: namley the match between England and Hungary, the famous 6-3 !! Oh, it could be so beautiful.. At least for us Hungarians.. Lol

I don't know my friend, as I don't actually support Portsmouth; my team is Leeds United. lol. Nevertheless, I love to watch football, so I watched that particular game. They are quite local to me, so I take an interest.
I don't know the team Kispest, but I know of Puskas... he's a very famous footballer. Lol, at the 6-3. Hungary always were a pretty good side you know!
Brightest Blessings and thank you for your contribution. I have accepted your friendship request.
