but every time my daughter comes back from spending the day with her father she is just full of gas the next day and exploding diapers. I swear it happens every time she goes with him. He told me she ate a lot of food yesterday, but dang this child smells today! She does not seem to be having any discomfort from it, but I wonder if I should give her something anyway? What do you give a small child when they are really gassy?

I don't know how old is your daughter, but you should give her father list of acceptable food for small child. I think he may not know how to feed baby or toddler. Overfeeding small kids is not good, but also quality of food is very important. You have to step forward and talk to baby father about baby diet.

She is almost two years old. I feed her all sorts of food too. She does get a little stinky now and then, but nothing like when he is with her.

Do they make Children's Pepto Bismol? How weird that it happens every time her dad brings her back. I wonder what he eats at his house. I bet he would find something else for her to eat if he had to contend with gas and exploding diapers for a long as you do.

She eats everything she can get her hands on no matter where she is. I am surprised she is not a little tubby baby. We once had an "argument" over who's fault it was. His for feeding her clam chowder or mine for feeding her guacamole.

I used to have that problem when I switched back and forth between my mother and my foster mom. I ate nothing but junk with my mother and got horrible indegestion. It caused a lot of gas that smelled like rotten eggs. I don't think there's much you can do about it, maybe a bit of Tums... I learned that is safe the hard way when my twins ate a bunch of them. If I were you I'd have a talk with her dad and tell him to limit her junk food and such.
