These few days, I have been working a lot on programming in my company. After back from work, I still working a lot on Mylot. My eyes feel so stressed and tired. So, once a while, especially when typing long comments in Mylot, I tend to close my eyes. Because, I do not need to look at the screen while thinking and typing. However sometimes, I still might make some typo mistakes , but I always do a quick check before I submit it. Thanks to the firefox spelling check, so that I can spot the mistake fast enough. In fact, at times, typing with closed eyes might make me think faster and type faster because I could concentrate more. So, my friend in mylot, do you have such experience in Mylot? Or, have you done this before? It's kind of funny, but I think it's interesting to share it.

Hi! ya most of us might suffer from this problem of feeling tired after long hours of work on the PC. But typing with closed eyes is something quite funny and interesting....lol... Will try it some time... I can give you a few tips to give rest to yuor eyes... After every 20 minutes of looking at your computer screen, turn your head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away. this will change the focal length of your eye. A must for tired-eyes. Try and blink your eyes 20 times in succession to moisten them. Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. Helps blood circulation for the entire body! Hope this helps you out and next time you don't have to type with closed eyes!...lol... Happy mylotting! ^_^

That's right. People like me sit in front of the computer almost two third of the day. That's why my eyes feel fatigue after work. The stress is even intense when I continue to work on Mylot at home. Therefore, instinctively, I closed my eyes when I feel tired, but my fingers keep on typing. I have tried the tips that you shared. My eyes feel more relieved and the stress is relieved instantly. Thanks for sharing such useful information! It will be very much useful to me. A short rest is very useful. Now I started to appreciate the importance of ergonomic practice. It could prevent permanent damage to our body.

Hello, cheongyc. I have typed with my eyes closed before. I found no trouble. Though I don't like to keep my eyes closed. I usually do not look at the keyboard, but yes at the screen. So, I think it would be almost the same. I like to see the text getting bigger as I write things. I think you should take care about your health. It might not be good to keep on myLot if you are not feeling good. Why not taking a break? Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Well, thanks for trying it out. I bet you are pretty at typing, because you didn't make any typo mistakes at all. I am typing this line with my eyes claosed as well. But I still make typo mistakes lol. I know it, but I didn't want to tcorrect it as weell. Hahaha, this is fun right? But if I type with a slower speed, and with my eyes closed, I could type without much typo mistakes. Thanks for your amusing response and have a nice day munhozmib!

Hello munhozmib, I see, seems like you an excellent in typing too. Initially, I thought it was the same by not looking at the keyboard and by closing our eyes. But I found that it's not the same. If you are not confident in what you typed, you will get confused when you are not looking at the screens. But for my case, I made less mistakes when I am typing with my eyes closed . It surprised me, but I think it's possibly because I can concentrate better when I do not look at the screen. It's just temporary when my eyes got so stressed and I typed with my eyes closed because of this. All the works in company came in the same time and I still online after work for Mylot. Thanks for your concern, I am doing good now, but I still practice that because to rest my eyes more. . I usually will take a break once every hour. Thanks for your response, and have a nice day!

Before you read it all, I would like you to know that this was all writte with my eyes closed. And damn, I think I have missed the written word above. I am not sure. Typing with my eyes closed is certainly harder than writing with them looking at the screen!! lol Help me! I am glad you are doing fine. And you probably have a lot of confidence for writing with your eyes closed. I must say that I am scared of seeing how many mistakes Imade. i WILL JUST SUBMIT WITHOUT RE-CHECKING. i MEAN, WITHOUT CORRECTING THE WRONG WORDS.

Sometimes I do it. Like you I do not need to look at the keyboard or at the screen. Sometimes I to make mistakes but I proof read my material as well. I'm like you also in the fact that I think I can type faster because I can concentrated more. My kids are always amazed when I can talk to them and type while not looking at the screen. Its funny.

That's cool, to amaze your kids. I have surprised my friends and colleagues too, to type without looking at the screen or keyboard, while talking to them! I am happy that I learned this skill when I was in teenage. It proves to be useful, and could still impress those who don't know yet. Besides, I have taught my friends on how to learn the typing the correct way. I think it's getting much easier now, with the emergence of typing training software. Thanks for your response and have nice day shymurl!

I occasionally do it. Sometimes it's with my eyes closed. But a lot of time, I may be typing something while watching a movie and I'll be staring at the television while I'm typing or something like that. Every time it happens I think it's cool and kind of feel good about myself.

That's cool indeed, to type something while watching the movie or attending to other stuff. I do that sometimes too, but ended with a lot of typo. In fact, I could type better with my eyes closed, without all the visual distractions. Actually, watching television while doing Mylot is a very good idea. You could acquire the knowledge while having the fun of discussions. Besides, you could apply what you are watching directly into your discussions too!

No, I don't face this kind of problem but I just want to share that I will be so happy to say that I like Mylot because I can share it to everyone and I know that if you know that you had the idea or opinion and you always fresh your mind and your life is fresh and you know that many people will response and response and get money. I like money and I like to share too. So although I feel want to sleep but I will control it until that is 1:00am then I will sleep.

It's good that you never stress yourself. I should adopt your practice. But Mylot is such an interesting place, that, at times, I just couldn't help continue typing. I agree that many have joined Mylot for money. My initial motive here is also for money. But after some time, I feel the pleasure of discussing interesting topics. I think many other Mylotters have similar experience too. Those who are profit oriented people will leave Mylot once they found that it's not a very lucrative deal. So, those who stays long are enthusiastic people who really like discussions!

Looks like you did well on that post, LOL. I don't really type with my eyes closed, but sometimes someone will start talking to me at home or work while I am talking. I'll turn to them to listen to what they are saying, but I keep typing. LOL. Really, if I am in the middle of a sentence, sometimes I don't want to stop for fear of forgetting what I was going to say (that happens quite often). Or I might be typing something on the laptop and watch the tv screen for a moment while still typing. However, if I need to seriously respond back (more than an "Uh huh"), I have to stop typing because I have problems getting two "conversations" out at the same time, even if they are through different conduits. :D

Ya, I didn't expect to get so many response to this discussions . I am more than happy that I got more than 40 response after 3 days I started discussions. Thanks for your support and amusing response Paula1966 Well, I have been having the similar scenario as what you experienced too. I will just turn my head to my colleagues or friends when they are interrupting me while I am typing. And, same like you, I don't want to just stop because I tend to forget what I was typing, so my fingers keep on typing until I finish my sentence, while attending to the conversations. Of course, if we need to make a complicated response other than a simple 'yes' or 'no', then inevitably I need to stop typing and start talking to them. . Recently I found that my colleagues might find that I look weird to type with my eyes closed. So, I stop doing that and found out an alternative solutions. I just look at elsewhere, instead of the laptop screen, and keep my fingers busy typing. In this way, my eyes are relaxed for a short while too.

Hi, I found you! You are doing similar things when you are tired of looking at the screen. Because it seems to me that majority of Mylotter didn't get me. I was so obsessed in the discussions, and was eager to finish my comments that day, and thus I just closed my eyes for rest, but my fingers still continue typing. I am glad that you are feeling the same and did the same thing too. Even the eyes are half closed is better than no rest at all. It looks weird when people saw me typing with my eyes closed in the company. So, I have found out n alternative to look at elsewhere while typing. So, in this way, I don't look so odd, and I could rest my eyes from looking at the screen as well. Thanks for your hilarious and interesting sharing shiloh_222!

That's right. If you could type in the right way, without looking at the keyboards, then you will automatically close your eyes when you feel the stress and fatigue. I think it's normal for people who look at computer screen for long hours. I just wonder how many mylotters did that! It's great that you didn't make any typo mistakes too, when you were typing with your eyes closed. So, you are good in typing indeed! Thanks for trying and have nice day in Mylot! Remember to get to sleep when you feel sleepy. Or else you will fall asleep while typing!

You are most welcome Ganesh44, and thanks for your kind response and compliments too! Well, I just got the idea into my mind when I was typing with my eyes closed instinctively, due to fatigue of my eyes. I was stressed but was still eager to continue with my discussions in Mylot. So, I am curious about wether other mylotter do it or not. End up, I found that I made less typo mistakes when I type with my eyes closed, as a result of better concentration. How amazing!

I can't say that I do this on a regular basis but I admit, I have indulged in this in the past! Typing is a really nice gift to have. When you want to rest your eyes you can just close them and concentrate on the letters that you have to type! I have tried this once again even as I write to you and it really helps a lot I think. Learning to type was the best thing I ever did! Andrew

I totally agree with you AndrewFreyne. The skill of typing with all fingers is a gift. I have seen people typing in such manner since I was in teenage, and I feel that it's really cool to type in such a way. Therefore, I promised myself that I need to pick up this skill one day. In those days, I didn't have a computer. You know what, I was practicing with a type writer . Now, I type with my eyes closed intermittently, to give it a rest, like what you are doing too. Thanks for your sharing of typing experience, and have a nice day!

I haven't done it before. I still type with two fingers actually. But I've downloaded a typing tutoring software recently and I hope that I can type using all fingers very soon. But I checked out the software, it's actually normal among those who can type using all fingers, to type with both eyes closed. Once you type on a consistent basis, you'll eventually have that sense of where each of the letters are.

Keep on training yourself syfarisk and don't give up! You will master the skill of typing soon with consistent effort. I have been learning with consistent exercise everyday until I learned all the keys. You will learn that it's fun to type with all ten fingers. It's cool indeed . Once you got more confident, you can go ahead to try out typing with your eyes cool. What you said is right, you could develope a better sense of where all keys are when you type with your eyes closed. Thanks for your response and have a nice time in Mylot!

Good try olivia18888! Seems like you having just a little typo errors. It's very normal to have that. I used to made many typo errors too, even when I type with my eyes open. But strangely, I made less typo errors with my closed. That's why I wonder if it's because I can be more concentrated if my eyes are closed while typing. It feels good to type with my eyes closed, and once you got used to it, it's fun actually. You won't be distracted by other visual interruptions. So, when you keep on learning to type with eyes closed, you could improve your typing over time. By the way, I am happy that the spelling checkers in Firefox is able to help me reducing the typo errors significantly. Happy posting and thanks for trying out typing with your eyes closed.

I have done that but OMG you couldn't read it. It was gibberish to say the least. I think I'm on the right keys but NOT!!!!! My computer is sort of crazy in that when I hit an a I usually get 2 or 3 of them. Then when I hit the e I almost always get a w with it. So I always have to go back and proof read what I type to see in it can be read....LOL....It's Ture!!!!

That happened sometimes, and it's very normal. It's good to have computer nowadays. I remember in those days, I learned to type using a type writer, and it would be messy and tedious to type it wrongly. If you are typing a very important document, you need to start all over again if you typed something wrong. So, you should develope a better sense of the keyboard. I usually use the two key guide on the "F" and "J" buttons, which most keyboards have, to guide my fingers. In such away, you could have a better alignment with the keyboard, to ensure you hit the right key always. Thanks for sharing your experience with typing and have a good day morningstar369!

Hi cheongyc, I’ve never thought that you have such a great affinity for mylot posting and you still keep on working a lot on myLot even though your eyes feel extremely stressed and tired. By this way you could have a short time for your eyes to rest. Actually taking a short and proper rest could make us to move on further. Since you are so skillful in typing and also with the help of the firefox spell checker there will be no problem for you to handle the keyboard with closing eyes. That’s why a blind could concentrate more with what he is doing. Anyhow mistakes made by a person who types with closed eyes are excusable what’s more I often make typo mistakes with eyes opened wide When I feel tired I usually would close my eyes and keep on typing and sometimes I find that my fingers are actually not moving Happy posting and take care.

Hi lkbooi, sometimes when I am in a good mode for Mylot, I can work very hard. Because I just couldn't stop discussing about interesting topics, even if my eyes are tired. Actually I seldom stress myself too much, unless there is some urgent things that need prompt actions. Actually there was a responder that showed me a tips on how to give our eyes some rest. We should look at objects that are 20 feet away for 20 seconds once we feel our eyes are tired. Or do it more often especially after looking at the screen for long hours. I found that it's useful and my eyes are more relieved. That's really funny, I think you might have fallen asleep if you typed with your eyes closed. In fact, the best way is to stop doing Mylot when we are tired and get some rest, instead of forcing ourselves to continue. What you said is very true, a short rest can bring us go further. Thanks for your meaningful response and have a nice day!

It is true that when come across discussions which we are really interested we could hardly stop for sharing views and feeling with our friends here. Very often I prefer to keep on typing until the next early morning though I know to go to bed after 11 o’clock in the night is not good for our health. Here I would like to express my gratitude to you and one of the responder you mentioned above as well for sharing the valuable information of how to take care of our tired eyes. I will try to look at objects at a distance about 20 ft away for 20 seconds to relax my tired eyes. I hope after doing this my eyes would get refreshed again and could keep on typing efficiently. I utterly agree with you, when we feel tired the best way is to have proper rest straight away instead of forcing ourselves to keep on working. Yeah, we must always keep in mind: proper rest can bring us to go farther. You are very much welcome and take care

Ya, now I am more relaxed in Mylot. That's why you will find that I have been idling since last month. There are a few reason, my work load in the company became so heavy that I really didn't have time for mylot at all. Besides, I found some part time translation job, so, again my time during night time was used up instead. Thanks for your kind response and advice, I will not force myself too hard again. Happy New Year, cheongyc. After reading your discussion, I am now trying to see how many correct words I can type without having to look at the screen by closing my eyes. It is interesting to type this way with eyes shut. To my great surprise. I can type a lot of words correctly. Ok, I am done already and now when I check it, I have typed five incorrect words above, as it shows red under the wrong words. Thank you for the discussion.

Happy new year to you too, williamjisir. Thanks for your kind response, and thanks for trying out as well. It's very normal to make a little typos. I think you are typing very well, by making very mistakes in the try out above. Sometimes, I did worse than that Luckily with the spelling checker of Firefox, we are able to spot the typo easily, as you can see with the red dotted underline.

Hi jisir, I’m glad to know that you can type lots of words correctly without looking at the keyboard . I’m happy too, I can type 90 % of the words correctly not looking at the keyboard If typing certain figures, punctuation, and those unfamiliar symbols I still have to look at the keyboard. Doing more typing work here at mylot here frequently could enhance the skill of typing unconsciously
