It is a good habit if we write diary everyday. You can have a look at you diary if you want to know what you have done before. You can write what you see and think in your diaries.I tried to write diary everyday when I was a student, but I could not insist on writing. It is very difficult for me to write diary everyday, for I am a lazy man,LoL Do you write diary everyday?

Before, I used to have a diary but now I don't. Instead of diary, I am now keeping a scrap book or photos of things that serves as mementos to me. It is lesser time in writing and I can enjoy the pictures of my activities after few years.

i think writing your personal thoughts in life is a good habit as well as writing in a diary. I personally kept a diary, a notebook type but one of my friend read it and it was too embarassing coz i kept also my secrets in my diary, those secrets that i cant express to my bestfriends.. Now my diary is an email type.. hahahahha i have 1 mail account which stand as my online diary.. lol.. hahahahahahahah every now then i always write down my secrets and other happenings in my life.. I consider mail diary coz it needs a password which no one can open except me..hahahhahah And as far as i know i can keep my diary privately.. my personal email add which know by my friends was not my diary mail.. and no one knows what was that.. hahahahahahah.. i love it!!!!!

I don't have a diary and will never write a diary. I don't want to keep my secrets in a piece of paper and then lost it or be stolen and read by someone else. I want to keep all my secrets inside my mind, and just think about it when I'm alone. I think, the best place to keep my memories is inside my mind. Nobody can get it. But, I have a blog and I'm planning to share a bit of myself to everyone.

I used to have a diary when I was very young, but I quickly lost interest in it and didn't know what to write about. I didn't bother remaking one because I knew I would be too lazy to write in it everyday. As of the beginning of last month though, I made a blog, in which I keep track of everything that happened to me on each say since its creation. I'm still getting into the habit of writing posts every day, often I leave them until the next day, but I still make an effort to write something about every day. I made it because, as you mentioned, it's going to be a lot of fun when I look back on it one day and remember all the things I did and how my attitude changed. I think it's pretty amazing if you can open something and remember what happened every single day of your life from a certain point - I would love to relive some memories in the future. ^_^ This is why I, even though I'm not in a writing mood sometimes, make it a point to mantain my blog and write about what happened every day. ^_^

I had a diary when I was young, then I wrote some stuff about a boy I liked and my uncle...who was staying with us...went through my room and found it and showed my Mom. I got into all kinds of trouble and EVERYBODY knew how much I liked this boy and it was horrible. Since then I've lived by the rule that I never write down anything that I don't mind everyone reading. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

I think as a writer, it is a good habit to write in my diary every day. I don't write what would be of interest to many people, but it helps me to be creative by writing what has gone on in my day, how I have felt and what has happened. It helps my mind to be focused and creative.

I wrote a diary when I was a high school student. As at that time there were some pressures like study. So writing a diary made me feel released. I didn't write any diary when I was in the university. And today I won't keep the diary any more. One reason is I don't want to spend time writing it. And another reason is I am afraid someone will read it and I will feel very uncomfortable to it. I love China

for me, if i not mistaken, i write diary when I was standard 6 (12 years old), but when started to write, i very excited and write everyday... it is because my mom give me a very nice and cute diary book... after that, i start to write once a week, because when i was standard 6, we have a government test and will be very busy.... so, i take this as a excuse and start just write the diary once a week, later, i become more lazy and start writing once a month... then i give myself a excuse that, no need to write diary everyday, if something special happen only I will write down... and at last, because of lazy, i not writing anymore...

As an aspiring author, I read that keeping a diary helps to get the 'creative juices' going - because you are writing (about anything, not specifically on a piece of work) it gets your mind used to being in that state and then when you want to write a story, poem etc your mind is more receptive and can get into that state more easily. So, last New Year I pledged to myself that I would keep a diary (though I prefer to call it a journal - it sounds more grown-up to me!) and write in it every day. I bought a really nice A5 sized page-a-day one that I felt I would enjoy writing in. I write before I go to bed about all sorts of things - stuff that's on my mind, things that have happened that day, things I'm looking forward to and things that I am grateful for - but I always fill the page. There have been occasions where I haven't been able to do it on the actual day (if I've been out late or am away on holiday, or have been ill) but I always go back and catch up. And now we're into December and every page so far is full! I'm really proud of myself and actually bought my 2009 journal yesterday ready for next year. It hasn't really increased the amount of creative writing I've done, but I've come to enjoy journalling just for the sake of it. I'm looking forward to reading back through it in years to come..! Best wishes, Teedyboo :o)

Sorry,I have not written diary after I graduated from junior high school. I have not the habit of writing diary, although I know that is a good habit. I don't like writing since I was very young. I wrote diary just for homework, I was forced to do that, so when I get rid of the stress of writing diary,I felt free and sware I never write diary from then on. Well, when you get something you will lose something. So do I. Writing diary can improve my writing skills, cultivate the ability to observe, and most importantly summarize life. Without writing, I have more spare time, but I have less time to analyze gains and losses in my life, and less memory that I can have a look at when I old. I am lazy too, and I have to admit stopping writing diary means to lose some memory. Although that is right, I still can't writing diary everyday, for I have not so much time to do that and cultivate a habit is difficult. But if I have some important experiences, I would still write it down.

No, Simon, I don't write in a diary either. I wish I could. I always thought keeping a diary is such a great idea, for all the reasons you stated. Some people pass them on to family members (mothers to daughters); some use them as references to write a book. But I am just not that person. I wish I was a diary person. Over the years I've even purchased journals, or diary, books to begin being a diary person. I would write for a couple of days. I would forget for a period of time and then go back and write some more and eventually give up. I don't think it's because I am lazy. I have terrible handwriting; printing is better. I know a journal or diary really is only written for the writer's eyes. I have to admit though, my handwriting is so bad, sometimes I cannot read some of my words! The computer has eliminated the handwriting problem. I have started some writing on my computer. Again, I do ok for a while; then I abandon the project. I think my problem is I am not as focused as I need to be a successful keeper of the diary, or the journal. My sister has kept a journal since she was nine or ten (she's fity-two now). She uses to see how much her life has changed over the years; the patterns that appear. My boyfriend keeps a journal of sorts. He writes down his agenda for the day in a spiral bound note book. He has keep these note books over the years. I wish I could say I could be one of those people. I am so far behind in my newspaper and magazine reading. Reorganizing my records (i.e. bank records to keep or not, etc.). Any journal I would write would be for my eyes only. So I will have to make due with all of my thoughts running around in my brain.

It has always been my habit to write in a journal or diary at the end of each day, to record my activities and my thoughts on that day. I have two blogs that I post on regularly, I write every day for assignments and article sites, and I post responses in discussions. I still write by hand in my diary, even if it is just a brief note of what I have accomplished.
