Is a TV worth a life?

Hi friends, I am so, so disgusted in human beings right now, I can barely get this written. A man died at a Wal-mart store in the states. He was trampled to death by PEOPLE, yes, HUMAN BEINGS. These were not animals. These were people looking for bargains. Yes, they had stood in line since the day before (their choice). Nobody made them do this. And if that is not bad enough, people were outraged when they were told the store was closing due to the death --- and kept on shopping. A pregnant woman was also injured enough to be taken to hospital. Luckily the baby and mom are fine. Just in my opinion, I don't think that was the smartest place for a pregnant woman to be (well I don't know - I have mixed feelings about that). What is this world coming to? If this doesn't show the materialism in our world, I guess nothing will. My heart goes out to the family of the deceased man. Think about it-- the poor man was probably making minimum wage. The family certainly are not rich people and now they have to come up with the money for a proper burial. Sad!! Cheryl

i heard about this on the news today. its shocking, horrible and not surprising. sad to say. its cause of the way ppl seem to just go crazy on Black Friday, is the reason i WONT shop the day after thanksgiving! i wont even go to the grocery store! if i can help it i dont leave the house! even the ppl driving around to and from the stores act like nothing matters but THEMSELVES! in fact the last time i had to run an errand (get milk) on Black Friday (couple years ago) i was almost in TWO car accidents!! BOTh times some a$$hole was trying to make a left turn in front of me..on even had the SOLID red light, he just plowed thru anyways! that was the last time i went anywhere on black friday! its disgusting the way ppl act for the sake of a "sale", truly pathetic.

Hi friends, Its me again. I got to thinking about a way to solve some of these tragedies. I think the company holding these "incredible sales" should figure out a system in which the day before the event, you must have to call a number - they take your number and information and you receive a confirmation number. This would be cataloged and if you showed up on the day without this number, you do not get in the store. I think this would surely cut down on people sleeping outside the store (which is dangerous in itself). People are a lot different when they know you have their name and address to refer to. I know this is more work for the store, but they will sell their items and the people will receive their items in a more humane fashion. Just a thought. Cheryl
